Two Games On Sat/Sun Vids Coming Soon 5 wickets 74 runs and 21 overs (MY NZ FIGURES)

Well I'm no bowler, as I keep and bat, but I do like the swimming pool :D

Just practice lots and get advice from your teams' bowling coach or if you don't have one talk to other spinners

Fredi
an important thing for a spinner in regards to flights is making the batsmans eyes move. You need to flight the ball above the batsmans eyeline so he has to look up then down. This creates the best chance to beat him in through the air, once you have mastered this, you can manipulatle your action to produce drift. but learning flight is the starting point for any spinner.

Oh and i dont mean so the batsman has to lift his head right up, just enough for his eyes to have to look up slightly then down.

Hope this helps, let me know how you go.

Cheers Rabbitoh

I just watched your vids...you bowl like a med. pacer. lol
Your need to pivit/ swivil more on you front foot on delivery, you drop your right arm and shoulder t quickly. try to keep your right arm and shoulder up longer, you need to be higher, more upright in the final moments of delivery.

i think if you work on these thing plus what i posted above you will improve 100%.

After you have worked on these, post another vid and ill have another look for you, if you want my help that is. (if you post another vid place the camera higher so i can see more of your action.

You might want to just try bowling with your bowling arm really pushing through your ear, seems to me a little why your lacking in turn is because your revolutions on the might be a little on the wonk rather thank straight over. And bowling with a higher arm action will get more dip, I believe.

Having said this, I know nothing about bowling, haven't bowled in years.

You definitely do look like a Medium pacer. That last video of you does seem like you're getting the action right. You seem like you're practising enough, your follow-through seems pretty good. How are you placing your fingers on the ball? Like I said Spin King is an excellent help telling you the basic actions you need.

And your angle still can be worked on. From about my head to my body, it's about 30* angle and my attempt at an arm ball is around 20* angle. The changes make a difference and it helps if you try something like that.

Your wrist action seems limited, you need to expand it more but I haven't seen your wrist action as it's kind of hard to see. If your start turning it a little more it helps but that will also depend on your release.

There are a few things I notice in spinners actions which you may want to try for fun.
Warne style - Seam up, Thumb on the front of the seam, finger a little bit above the your thumb on the seam, middle finger should be directly opposite to the thumb and your 4th finger should be directly underneath.

It's hard to explain so I kind drew an image. Just showing you an example, this is what I use for spin and I can spin it quite well into the right hander and away from the left. And I am not a spinner at all.

I have other styles but I'd like to see where you're at first.

thanks gilly, yea how do i stop looking like a medium pacer?

thanks so far and my grip is like that,
any advice on how to get more turn from the wrist?

thanks,

It's your release, and your straight arm that makes you look like a medium pacer, but it's nothing to worry about as long as you spin the ball.

More turn from the wrist will probably depends on your release and how you use your fingers to release the ball.

When I start to release when my arm is in the air, I have that slightly curved arm shape and my wrists start to bend down. Then when I start to move my arm forward, my wrist starts to turn and I use that and my 4th finger to add spin onto the ball.

Kind of hard to explain but as you start to air your arm, you need your wrists bent in a way and then start to turn it clock-wise as your arm and wrists go through. And that 4th finger can really change the turn of the ball. I'll keep experimenting to see if I can find easier methods for you.

I've never tried recording, lol. And I know it's hard trying to explain to you but if you keep updating us with videos, you should be able to keep making progress.

No worries......I think patience is also an issue for me..
when the pitch is dusty and turning im as good as anyone in my grade and school comp
But when its not i get frustrated and bowl short.

I have to mature and work hard..

Will continue to post and thankyou so much Gilly i will post reps, is their anything else i could do?

Where In Nsw Are You From????????

I Live In Eastern Suburbs Close To Scg???/

Your piviting on the front foot has improved, but needs more swivel and pivit.
Your right arm is up a lot higher which is good. Your are more upright which is good, but try for a bit more. keep working on these and on the flight. work on this for another few days and then post another vid. You have picked up my tips pretty well. Also you dont look like a med pacer in your latest vids.
