great pres mate, keep it up.

who is higuan??

Higuain is Real's new signing (during the Jan transfer window) from River Plate. He is a striker and has already played 3 games for Real.

Also thanks everyone for the overwhelming response. I was not giving as much in this story as in the cricket one mainly it is only a one-off thing, but I will try to give my best now.

Chelsea are playing 4-5-1 with Drogba as the lone striker ahead of Joe Cole and Arjen Robben. Ballack, Essien and Lampard operate in the center of midfield and the defence comprises of captain Terry, Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho and Ashley Cole. Petr Cech is the goalkeeper.

20th Minute: GOAL - Didier Drogba (Porto 0-1 Chelsea)
Chelsea take the lead through the in-form Didier Drogba. The Ivory Coast international beats Pepe and Pedro Emanuel to the ball from Lampard's cross and heads it into the Porto goal. One nil Chelsea.

Half Time: Drogba's goal is the difference between the two sides at half time.

62nd Minute:
Postiga has a very good attempt at goal but fails to get the curl he was looking for. Cech should have been able to block the shot anyways.

pic9cw7.gif

70th Minute: GOAL - Joe Cole (Porto 0-2 Chelsea)
Drogba and Cole combine well for Chelsea's second goal. Drogba finds Cole with a nice pass, who for his part does brilliantly to get past Pedro Emanuel before shooting the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal. The two (Drogba and Cole) then celebrate ahead of the travelling Chelsea fans.

79th Minute:
Luis Gonzalez tries to pull one back from just outside the box but only manages to hit the side netting.

pic11vr2.gif

90th Minute+Injury Time: GOAL - Andriy Shevchenko (Porto 0-3 Chelsea)
Shevchenko comes off the bench to score Chelsea's third and wrap up an impressive victory. It was a powerful strike from the former AC Milan striker but Helton should have been able to stop it.

Full Time: The referee ends the game as Chelsea register a famous win here at the Est?dio do Drag?o that pretty much seals their passage to the quarterfinals. But strange things happen in Football in Jose Mourinho must not take the return leg lightly.

I feel sad for Porto because they are a good team but we are just too great.

UEFA Champions League 2006-07
Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid
Round of 16
2nd Leg
Allianz Arena, Munich

Aggregate Score: 0-1

Robinho's goal is what seperates the two sides ahead of this crucial second leg tie. Fabio Capello's side will be looking to score an away goal which would then require Bayern to score three to qualify.

pic1od6.gif

Lineups:
pic2mb0.gif

The home side are playing the same eleven that started at the Bernabeu. Willy Sagnol picked a yellow card in that game and now has four to his name and one away from an automatic one match suspension.

Real Madrid are playing two defensive midfielders in Guti and Gago, two wingers in Reyes and Robinho behind the the striker pairing of Higuain and Van Nistelrooy. The back four and goalkeeper remain the same as in the first leg.

MATCH EVENTS

9th minute:
Ruud Van Nistelrooy manages to shoot despite being crowded by the Bayern defence but is blocked by Oliver Kahn.

pic3oq3.gif

35th minute:
A poor header from Lukas Podolski is directed straight at Iker Casillas. Good oppurtunity wasted by Bayern.

pic4vn2.gif

HALF-TIME: Goalless at half time with Madrid leading 1-0 on aggregate

50th minute:
Robinho tries to find Van Nistelrooy but Kahn grabs the ball before the Dutchman could get to it.

pic5qh7.gif

59th minute:
Best chance of the game so far comes to Bayern Munich. Roy Makaay strike is brilliantly saved by Casillas and Roberto Carlos clears from the rebound.

pic6fd6.gif

70th minute:
Roberto Carlos makes a fine run on the left and tries to put a low cross in for Raul but Lucio is able to clear the ball.

pic7xy7.gif

FULL TIME: A rather dull match with no goals in it. Real Madrid wont mind though as their 1-0 first leg win takes through to the quarterfinals.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy said:
It was a tough game but we came through in the end. They had a few chances to score but I thought we defended well. Really looking forward to the quarterfinals now having beaten one of the contenders.
