Only a few of those names are familiar to me but nevertheless, these are England's future and if they do well in these ODI's then that can only be good news for England.

Richie Benaud was talking about once that one of the England u19s spin bowlers had the potential close to Shane Warne.

I think that was Adil Rashid.

I think Adil Rashid might be the man your thinking of Ben. He's not in that squad now as he's in the A squad, but I remember Richie speaking very fondly of him.

Rashid took a six-fer for Yorks did he not?

Will be interesting to see how Godleman and Northeast go, Northeast has been talked up as the second coming and he has dominated in grade cricket since he was fifteen.

Yep both are considered to be the brightest young batsman around in England.

Godleman as I mentioned elsewhere has smashed our bowlers all around the park two years on the trot in our annual charity game against the Bunbury XI, whilst I've heard some good things about Sam from various people who have seen him play on the club scene.

Rashid did indeed take a 6 for, also took 8 wickets in an innings against India U19s and hit a century in the same match.

To be fair on Malaysia, this is more of a learning experience for them. They're hosting the Under 19 World Cup next year, and get automatic entry, so they need some games against Test opposition.

3rd Match result

Sri Lanka innings: 280/6 (K Perera 86, Priyanjan 92)
England innings: 264/8 (Lyth 62, Wright 68, T Perera 4/54)

Sri Lanka win by 16 runs
