That's ICC 2002. Masakadza is pretty poor in 05.
Giles is overrated. Seriously, he gets atleast 2 wickets per game which have commentary which reads "Beaten by spin"
i find that most sri lankan bowlers are overrated. their FC bowling average is around 20. in my game in the first season itself vaas couldnt find a place in the side. he was replaced with bowlers with bowling average of around 20. simon jones is underrated. ganguly is underrated.
this game is based only on averages. a player with a good FC average more often than not turns out to be a good international cricketer and he's overrated as is the case with sri lankan bowlers and indian batsman. and players like simon jones whose FC bowling average is around 30 is underrated!
dan cullen, ben hilfenhaus and moises henriques from aus. are all underrated as well. so is chris tremlett.
james franklin of nz is probably overrated a bit as well. but i can understand that these players are all rated on their averages.. and have a poor first class average as they are just starting their careers.. however i think the makers of the game should take into account potential and expectations.
even flintoff is underrated. and bangladesh team itself has been overrated. they even seem to beat australia in australia! they have an overrated spinner called hasan who seems to run through batting line ups!
Dwight Washington, a RF bowler from West Indies did well for me with wkts at an average of 26 in CC and a rpo slightly above 3. He was more of a strike bowler and pretty cheap at 37000 (without any bargain). So probably a bit under-rated too.
The most over-rated player ever was in the 2002 edition. C Bassano, a Derbyshire batsman. he scored hundreds with ease! I picked him for England, and he averaged 50 at test level too. then after about 3 years he had a run of bad form and I dropped him, but he was still scoring hundreds at Derby.
in the 2006 ashes version, all the australia and england batsman are overrated. and all the bowlers are underrated. both teams are scoring 400-600 every time!
