They were fortunate to escape the England group game without losing, that saved their necks. England were fortunate the then rain rule didn't work or the South Africa semi could have gone the other way. I'd say England were the best team of the tournament, them and South Africa. Pakistan got the luck of the toss in the final, and all the advantages that went with it, and the rest is history

I believe there are no flukes in cricket because We should have won the 1999 world cup too but we didn't have the luck to win.

Its just like Brazil in 2002 in Football/soccer world cup and they were sort of ordinary and Belgium got a dissalowed goal for no reason and it ended out 2-2but later on in the tournament they were godly.

What rubbish comparison is that?? that was the only tough game Brazil had in the entire tournament, and although they were a bit lucky in that game ONLY, they were by far the best team in the tournament.
