Yeah, that did count against him but we're pretty broadminded here. We'll take people whatever side their bread is buttered...

As for making mod positions into a popularity contest it wouldn't work as sometimes mods have to make unpopular decisions and wouldn't feel happy doing it if they felt they were running for re-election.
