Your Cricket What drew you to cricket?

1996 - India vs Kenya where Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Jadeja were enjoying by hitting all around. This was the first time I observed cricket and I started learning & following every match since then. 1996 WCup still remains as my unforgetful series even now - India vs Pak, Aus vs WI( Richie Richardson's class ), Kenya Vs WI, SA vs WI, Ind vs SL(semis). Too many classics in one tournament!

I hail from a family of cricket fanatics. Right from my great grandfather till myself have played cricket and watched cricket always. The ladies in our house prefer cricket to cinemas and serials. But it was the Aussies, Mighty Aussies that drove me crazy about the game. The likes of Ponting, Waugh Brothers, Hayden, Gilchrist, Warne, McGrath, Lee, Gillespie etc etc and ofcourse Ganguly and Dravid in the early 2000s.

India's test series victory over Aussies in 2001.

The 2009 t20 World cup , I only watched few matches , Afridi's flying kiss to Kallis made me interested in cricket and his fifty as-well. :thumbs

He meant famous 2001 series, which also drew me to cricket!

Oh okay. The first test in Mumbai was good. ;)

Kolkatta and Chennai tests were good too but the team i supported lost :noway

I still remember that moment when i was in tears in the Chepauk stadium when Australia lost but neverthless i rejoiced back with the spirits of Matt Hayden's double century in the first innings :D

ICC T20 World Cup, South Africa 2007, Final. India vs Pakistan. What a match it was! Still watch it whenever I lost my mood. I have highlights of that match. Great to watch still after 6 years of that event. Since that date I start loving Cricket much than previous.

2005 Ashes series, I remember watching it on Channel 4.

1999 World Cup Final. I became obsessed with Shane Warne. I tried to do everything like him- the hair, the action- but then realized the limitations of being brown and trying to be a Shane Warne impersonator.

The 24/7 obsession of the sport in my household by my father and two grandpa's just rubbed off on me from an early age and since the 1996 world cup & 97 Ashes it has been my equal # 1 sport along with football.

DITTO - 1996 world cup was the turning point for me. I started understanding the finer things about the sport and fell in love with it. I had followed cricket before this because of my family (dad and uncles), but never really went crazy about it until 1996 world cup.

Also realized in 1996 how awesome Sachin Tendulkar was (is) and have been his unconditonal fan since :cheers

PS: also ofcourse cricket was being played on every other street in my neighborhood, so PEER pressure as well :D
