I am a learning off spinner and would like to know what field is best suited to me, i am pretty acurate with my line but length can be to full sometimes probably deliver 3 out of 6 in a good spot with some turn.
Cheers.

Deep Midwicket, cause a lot of people will slog you there.
Deep Square Leg for the long-hop
Short leg, must have for all spinners
A slip if you're confident with your arm ball
Mid off and Point, but no one in the covers, to induce the cover drive.
Deepish Mid on. Tempt the batsman to go over him.
2 men in the ring on the legside to stop the single. Maybe a short fine leg and midwicket.

Ideally you'll be bowling around offstump with this field. Maybe take a man from the legside in the ring to somewhere in the offside, as this is a 3-6 field otherwise.

I was going to do that, but I couldn't be bothered.

I'd take out all those deep positions, and have a square leg, slip, backward point, mid on, mid off, mid wicket, silly mid on and probably a deep fine leg. The others, put where you see fit.

As Zorax said, entice them to play the cut in front of square, or the cover drive. Hopefully you'll get a snick, or they'll be bowled. They might even chip one to your close in fielders.

I bowled a bit of tidy off-spin on the weekend before my game was washed out, I was the only person to take a wicket after about 12 overs.

Personally, I set a deep midwicket right on the boundary, a deep mid-on about 3/4 back to the rope but not fully, a shortish midwicket to stop the single, a square leg about 3/4 back and a fielder at point and one at a deep-ish mid off position. This seems a bit like a defensive field, but it really limits where they can attack you, and if you have a competent fielder at deep midwicket expect them to take quite a few catches.

We were a bit short on numbers though, since the other team were forced to forfeit, we made up more of a scratch match than anything, I think it was 8 a side or something.

if it is a full day or more then a day match then allow him to have a silly point fielder.
It gives bowler more confident and most of time bowler earn a wicket in his first 5 overs.
