who's the most arrogant cricketer of alltime?

Most arrogant of all time? Wow thats a tough call. I know WG Grace gets a bad rap, but a lot of the stories attributed to him are actually incorrect. I find Graeme Smith to be pretty arrogant myself (Although I doubt he's the most arrogant of all time). Oh and maney, I've met Viv and he's not arrogant.

I guess one of two things happened. Either I didn't quite understand the point of the topic, or I didn't make the point especially clear lol

What I was getting at is the fact he was pretty arrogant on the field (gum etc.) and it obviously helped him to be as successful as he was.

I wasn't insinuating that he was arrogant away from the pitch. I've always been sure he wouldn't be.

Tendulkar is about as far as you can get from arrogant. Are you going to call him out on not being one of the greatest players in the current generation?

are you telling me that Tendulkar never said somthing to the bowler after he smacked him for a brilliant four, never in his 100somthing tests and 400+ ODIs.

beliving that you are better than somebody is not arrogance its confidence. i know that here in north america players get alot of bad rep when they say "my teams going to win this for sure" everyone says he is arrogant and cocky but what do you want the guyy to say we are going to lose. to be the best requiers you to think that you are better than the guy beside you.

and btw sohummisra you totaly twisted what i said, did i point Tendulkar out or did i point a single player out no i didnt. all i said that in all sport great players show some arrogance at times, Federer, Tiger Wodds, MJ, Tom Brady now Lebron James all show arrogance at some time.

He should say "I am hopeful for my team, the opposition will be tough to beat, but I think we have what it takes". That is confidence, not arrogance like how you put it. Better still, don't say anything at all and do your job on the field.

He does not think that he is good. He sledges because he feels that he needs to - it is an insecurity on his part.

He is just over-passionate, he's just like those nutters burning effigies. It's much more than a game to him.

Yah, I feel the same.

Like Mob said, he just gets carried away in the moment. he's a really, really, really nice guy off the field. He's just aggressive.

So why can't you say that for Pietersen and the fact that Pietersen isn't aggressive or not as much as Sreesanth anyway?

Because he's not trying to defend KP?

You make this point often that Sreesanth is not a good cricketer. But on the contrary, he has 46 wickets in 11 Tests and is the fastest bowler that India has ever produced, he has oodles of potential (still shouldn't play ODIs though, but that is another story). People also call him arrogant but in interviews, it is clear that he is not. His favourite team is Australia, he sledges them almost to impress them, like a kid. He knows that he would not beat Symonds in a fight ("It would take the powers of spiderman"), he sees sledging as a part of cricket and he is certainly not picking an arguement because of a nature off the field. It is hard to explain, but I have read/heard interviews from him and he is always first to credit the opposition and almost undermine his own talent.

Fastest Indian Bowler -- Javagal Srinath
Sreesanth -- crap , crap and a lot of it. ODI rpo above Agarkar. In test matches bowls more trash diliveries than in the garbage heap outside any slum in Mumbai. Only bowled well in SA and has been hailed ever since.

He should move to bollywood as he can dance better than SRK for sure :p

Was that the "how does Brian Lara taste?" "I don't know, ask your wife" conversation?

This is when sledging gets out of hand and we witness fist fights.:p

I'd like to remind everyone that arrogant isn't a right. It's just a rude behaviorism. Even if you're the best batsmen in the world, if you're arrogant you're still just being rude. For example, Tendulkar is quite far from arrogant. If he was arrogant, I doubt he'd have as much support.

Sachin the most humble cricketer ever. The only reason alone apart from his game that set him apart from other players.

are you telling me that Tendulkar never said somthing to the bowler after he smacked him for a brilliant four, never in his 100somthing tests and 400+ ODIs.

Only to McGrath. Most of times his bat do talking.

Federer is not arrogant. Hes just damm good and always says anything about his opponents smiling not in arrogance like most big shots do.

I have never seen Tiger Woods talk even. Dont know how he sounds.:p

MJ and Lebron play contact sport. You need to be arrogant there.

Gambhir is a very rude person i liked Gambhir but after i saw him against Pakistan in last ODI series where he used abusive word against Shahid Afridi.

Gambhir is most boring person on planet. He will not utter anything. I dont know why you think he is rude person. Hes just boring.

That spat with Afridi. India-Pakistan for you. Had you watched our games in 80s and 90s you would have not liked anyone from here then.

Basketball is not a contact sport! Its players are arrogant probably because they are American, an attribute seemingly all of them have.

Basketball is a contact sport. And you cannot even begin to suggest that all Americans are arrogant. You could claim that many or most are, and I'd still disagree with you. They may be ignorant at best but they aren't stereotypically arrogant.

You will know when Big Diesel Shaq breaks your jaw with his biceps. :p

Hmm, it appears it is. Nearly everyone calls it a non-contact sport over here, even the ones that teach it.

I forgot about Sourav Ganguly. His time at Lancashire showed just how arrogant and self obsessed he is.
