Why Does Life Suck So Much ??

Seriously, what the hell are we doing here ??
why does the earth exist at all ?? why was it created in the first place
?? who created it ??
what was the whole logic behind it ?? and last but not least
why is there so much sadness, misery and pain with very little
or just a hint of happiness and joy ???

this is the normal life scenario of a normal person in india !!

by the time your 2 years old, when you can even hardly speak or understand anything, parents and relatives start teaching you "A for Apple" etc
or they'll show a picture and say "This is a dog...what is it ?? a dog ! D-O-G Dog...can you say Dog ?? come on XYZ say it for papa, say it for mama" !!
i swear to god, some parents start teaching maths
(i.e 1+1 = 2) kinda stuff to a 2 year old.

when your 6, you have to attend 1st grade, 6 days a week
from 8am to 3pm, come home and again attend private tutions even at
such a tender age !!! as if the gruelling process was not enough, you
are expected to top in the class as well !! :mad.

the process goes on till your in 10th grade at 16 yrs of age....when you
have started exploring sex in full flow !! your in your adolescence period,
hormones change which will make you do strange things !
plus, your about to give one of the most important exams in your life
the SSC or GCSE for the english men ;)

if you get good grades, then you make a narrow escape, if not, then
you go through a tough phase in your life with your family scolding
and reprimanding you like your a prisoner. your compared with people
you hardly know and theres always the sadist neighbour who'll start
mocking your parents and you just because you didnt do well in ONE exam.
also, if you dont get good grades, then your considered as a dumbass
and an irresponsible child !

once you pass your 10th grade, then you have various options to choose
for your 12th grade exams(HSC)
which will be the stepping stone to your career namely Arts,Commerce,Science, medicine etc ! now, this doesnt really
feel that important a decision for us indians and especially our parents because we are obsessed with either science, medicine and IT !
parents force their children to take up a field which he has hardly any
clue nor is interested in it just because everyone has done it and
its more of a fad !

this is the time you start getting really frustrated with your life
and take up some nasty habits like smoking, drugs, alcoholism, etc....!
you start loosing interest in studies...your girlfriend leaves you.....
your dog with whom you have grown up with dies.....!!
to add salt to the injury, your parents will scold you almost everyday
for not studying and giving the family a bad name !! WTF !!!!

90% of the parents dream(in harsh words "FORCE) their children
to study day-n-night for an overhyped exam known as the IIT-JEE !
students are made to attend over-crowded coaching classes
like agarwal,bansal,brilliant tutorials etc !!

for those who dont know,a normal 12th grade student of SCIENCE
gives FIVE exams in the span of one and a half to two months
which are HSC,IIT-JEE,CET,BITSAT and AIEEE !

then, you somehow clear 12th grade and its now time for UNI !!
again the same obsession with science , medicine and IT !!
almost every teenager in india wants to be an engineer or a doctor !!
if your creative and interested in something else and want to follow
your dreams, then your family will somehow convince/force you to take
up a bachelor's degree and you have to spend 4 years of your life
in misery, regret and frustration ! and if you fail a year, then you can
technically do nothing but sit at home and jerk off !!

and noway on earth is the admission process easy even in the slightest
of imagination !!

i'll give you my example : -

*Curses Ambedkar and Nehru*

i am a brahmin ( A Forward Hindu Cast) . i got 84 % in Std X and had to pay some bribe in order to get admission in Junior College whilist a guy with just 62 % got admission without any bribe and in fact, he was considered in one of the top merit lists due to him being a SC (Scheduled Cast) ! :mad
A Brahmin like me has to get atleast 90% and above in order to be just considered.but even a student with such intelligence is not guaranteed a place in a reputed college.

Here Is how the priority Lists Goes :-

SC (Scheduled Cast)
ST (Scheduled Tribe)
BC (Backward Cast)
OBC ( Other Backward Cast)
NT [ Nomadic Tribe (?) ]

Open (Brahmin , Jain etc etc)

and i am unfortunately in the open category ! i might have missed one or two
casts but just an idea to show you guys the situation of a student belonging
to Brahmin Cast has to face in a f**ked up education system !
this doesnt mean that i am against or criticising any of the casts..
in fact, i dont believe in stupid things like casts , religion etc but the "politicians" here are so F**king corrupted !!

treading more into the indian education system......if you have a good
memory, then you can easily succeed in your school/college days
as the system is more of mugging, learning it by-heart etc !!!
you can get an engineering degree just by mugging up the syllabus !!
SAD BUT TRUE !!

You somehow get a decent job and if your in a MNC(multi-national),
then they extract every bit of you to the point where you go completely
beserk and need councelling ! Girlfriends Issues, makeup, break up,
financial issues, work-load,inconsiderate boss take a toll on you
mentally and physically.

You Live your life like a Slave with absolutely no idea of what you
are doing or want in life !! to relieve the stress you tread deeper
into the world of alcohol and drugs ! and when you are
dealing with your mid-life crisis, one fine day the doctor tells you
you have cancer which is more or less a direct result of your lifestyle!
you grow weaker and weaker by the day and also have the fear
of "death" near the corner of your head ! you undergo chemotherapy,
radiotherapy, surgery and what not !! and by the time your through
all this, you start discovering new side-effects which you didnt
even imagine would happen to you in your wildest of dreams...

The Strength is almost NIL in your body and your so weak that you cant
even lift a f**king toilet paper roll !!

And if your just unlucky to the core, you suffer a stroke and your
right side is completely paralyzed !! you limp your way, talk with your
lips and tongue bent towards the left side !! and after a year of rehab,
you somehow find the energy to do the day-to-day activities PROVIDED
YOUR CANCER HAS SUBSIDED!!

One Fine Day, when your crossing the street to do some shopping,
and BANG !!!! a drunk dude whos lost all his senses will ram over you
and THATS IT !!!!

TO SUM IT UP :-

Most people think life sucks, and then you die. Not me. I beg to differ. I think life sucks, then you get cancer, then your dog dies, your girlfriend/wife leaves you, the cancer goes into remission, you owe thousands of dollars in medical bills and mortgage but you work hard for thirty five years and you pay it back and then one day you have a massive stroke, your whole right side is paralyzed, you have to limp along the streets and speak out of the left side of your mouth and drool but you go into rehabilitation and regain the power to walk and the power to talk and then one day you cross the road for some work and BANG you get hit by a city bus and then you die.

Theres so much more that i can mention but it the post would be GIGANTIC !!
So, My Question to you all is, WHY ARE WE LIVING LIKE THIS ???
isnt there any other way ??

A THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE READ IT. I ADMIRE
YOUR PATIENCE :D !

I actually read all that  Nothing wrong with this ;)

have start exploring sex in full flow !!

or the last one here :p

and take up some nasty habits like smoking, drugs, alcoholism, etc....!

Same applies here in the UK, just not as obvious. Believe me the only reason some people are in my school is due to their parents reguarly donating. If it wasn't for that they would be chucked out.

Overall you seem pretty feked of with life. You do seem to be portraying it from a very one sided view. Your parents only want you to do well in life and I am sure that there are hundreds of thousands of kids in Britain who would cut of an arm to be given tuition (i.e. some of the breaks you've been given through tuition)

Secondly you live your own life. You choose to go to uni, you choose to allow your parents to boss you around. I'd just tell mine to f*** off if they start hasseling me too much :p End of the day you've got to have the bad days in life but you also get good days as well, i.e. having a really good game of cricket with your mates, or p****** yourself when your mate is drunk and can hardly stand up :p

I know it seems s*** sometimes, I was feeling like this a few weeks ago, but to quote a cliche, "That's life" Just got to enjoy it while it lasts :)

its not a one-sided view !! believe me ! many parents in india develop
an inferiority complex of such if their kids struggle in academics !
there are tons of students who are going through such misery !

yes, there are also TONS of nerds and those goody-two-shoes kind
of people in india who approve everything their parents decide for
them and willingly want to be a part of the rat race !!

and we indians dont have the guts nor the experience of dismissing
our parents or saying "F**k off" !:p...... i dont know if its a good thing or a
bad thing !!

yes.....thats why i still havent panicked or gone crazy as i
shrug off the misery by labelling it as
"THATS LIFE" ;)

Nah, most parents are like that.

It's a free world. If you want to be in the "rat race" that's fine, but if you don't want to be, you shouldn't be forced either

and we indians dont have the guts nor the experience of dismissing

Probably a Western thing. You should give it a go, give them a nice shock :p

I do see the way Suren is working these days and how he has no free time anymore to even see his family properly. Surely not everyone has to work like this. Don't you have any easy jobs, like being a teacher? :p

Bloody Hell JK you have a bleak outlook on life.

You know what, people will tell you what to do all your life if you let them. Sometimes they tell you things you don't want to hear but in the long run you'll thank them, sometimes they'll tell you things that they think will help you and they wont. Bad things will happen to you thats part of life. But life is long (unless you get hit by a truck or something) and there is plenty of time to make mistakes and plenty of time to learn from them, there is plenty of time for good things to happen too. There is plenty of time to learn that things that seem really hard/bad actually aren't that hard/bad too.

But here's the hard one....there is plenty of time to take control of your life and stop blaming everyone else.

There is an amazing invention called an aeroplane. It'll take you somewhere else if you really want to go.

thats exactly my point which i mentioned in the 1st post !!
even though you dont want to do it, our parents FORCE us.......
parents wanting their children to do well is a different thing
and annoying the crap out of their children is a different thing...!!
it does nothing but provokes hatred against your parents !!

Probably a Western thing. You should give it a go, give them a nice shock :p

you do realize that many indian parents ACTUALLY beat the hell out of
their children even if they are above 18 ?? :p

First of all, very few people are like colin :D :p

here,A Teacher gets only like a MAXIMUM of 10,000-15,000 Rs
per month which is somewhere around 160-240 Euros...!!

Yeah if you hate it so much, you can leave home.

WTF!!! Not meaning this in a horrible way, and I would never do it, but I highly doubt my parents could do anything to me. I'm about 6 inches taller than my mum and 2 inches taller than my dad, and frankly am stronger than both of them pretty easily (thank you gym ;))

First of all, very few people are like colin :D :p

Then you will have to decide, what you want from life. Do you want to be happy but accept you ain't going to be loaded, or are you going to work yourself into an early grave but be rolling around in cash? You can't have it both ways.

Ok JK thanks for such a great topic, (people think that people who say life sucks have nothing to do in life, and people who say that are talking whole lot of BS)

.. The reason being that life now days sucks is because You cannot find a single person , A SINGLE PERSON, who is living for anything apart from MONEY. It's another way of describing life in 21st century.

No one lives for other people, even if you say. You live for yourself. You don't love anybody.

i was actually expecting an answer like this. ;)

no but seriously, the reason that am pissed off is because
"why does life has to be so difficult ??"

and i agree with your point "people will tell you what to do all your life if you let them. " !! i mean, if some stranger comes up to me and starts giving some shitty advice, i'll tell him to "F**K off" but its my parents, family
and close relatives who are sort of ORDERING me to do something
which i really dislike ! and as i mentioned to highlander that we indians
have not been brought up in an environment where you can dismiss
or swear at your parents !!!
and this is just not my case, but heaps of people like me are suffering
under pressure just because they dont want to be rude to their
parents !

Trust usy to make a stupid incorrect statement. You're being incredibly single minded if you believe that no-one lives for anyone else, and that nobody loves anyone else. You, and the people around you may be like that, and if that's the case I feel sorry for you, but generalising everyone like that is completely incorrect.

You think I was bought up so I'd be rude and swear at my parents? You'll probably find kids in England now that do, but I've never sworn at my parents and am unlikely to ever do so. Respect doesn't mean obedience or 100% agreement.

Just for the record I rarely swear at my parents. Only if they really get on my back when I'm stressed already. I have tons of respect for my parents but it doesn't mean I would let them boss me around, and I don't think they work like that anyway. They respect me as a person and as an adult.

Well ok, parents, are doing great deal for their children, and working apparently for their families and sh*t like that.

But it doesn’t mean, that no one lives or money whatever reason it may be, either for your family and children or having all the riches.

The bottom line is that money has become everything.
