Wisden's 10 players who will "define" cricket in the next decade

ohh ok i didnt get it rite but afridi he might be as he is 26 rite now i think??
Iam sick of Afridi, so damn over rated and so loved for a cricketer that fails in matches 99 times out of 100.

And most of the time when he does get it right with the bat, he hits raggy shots, not off the middle but powers it away for boundaries. Exciting cricketer nevertheless.

I'm sorry hooper but I cannot agree with you there. He may fail 75% of the time with the bat, he is almost always the best bowler for Pakistan. Take his form in the current series against south africa

Batting - 1st ODI - 47 (26)
2nd ODI - 6 (4)
3rd ODI - 32 (18)

Bowling - 1-48 off 10overs
- 1-41 off 10
- 3-37 off 10

For a low order batter and a middle overs spinner that is surprisingly good. You need players like Afridi in the team for their shear presence. Smith resorts to defensive fields as he arrives at the crease. Also bowlers are frightened of him. On his day he is amazing!

Afridi rules. Brilliant bowler for Pakistan, but not in Flintoffs class. And Flintoff was more consistant with that bat, although not as talented. But what use is talent if it is used the way Afridi does? On his day though, he wins matches off his hand. And yes, his presence is big, but so i Freddies. Both equal fielders.

Anyways, Asif won't define cricket. That may be true as he is pretty much the next McGrath. He'll be a legendary bowler, but really won't be revolutionary. Just be re-enforcing the old accuracy > speed arguement. Gul on the other hand. If he keeps us this form, he can define cricket.

1 player i can say will definetly define the next decade is Kamran Akmal

Why?
Record breaking amount of dropped catches and still gettin more than 100 Test matches

I'll be honest, I hadn't seen Raina in full flow till the Challenger Tropy highlights hit the internet, and my god, Wisden may have made a god call, if he continues like this. He was amazing.

Wouldn't Dhoni, Pathan, Yuvraj, Gambhir, Uthappa, or their fast bowlers be more likely to succeed in the next decade from India than Raina, as they're all more talented?

Raina's a HORRIBLE choice.

Michael Clarke, Kevin Pietersen, Mohammad Asif,
Lasith Malinga I agree with. Whilst I think that Ashraful is a great player there is really only so much he can do at Bangladesh.

Let me get to Ross Taylor.

I really do not rate this kid. And I really mean it, I don't think he is anywhere near ready. Hes had all this smoke blown up his ass after he scored that ton and a couple 50s in the Commonwealth bank series and I really don't see whats so awesome about him. Don't get me wrong, I think the kid has IMMENSE talent but I don't think his ready.

It was highlighted 30 minutes ago actually. Showed bad discipline as he played a flashy "no feet" shot straight to gully when he needed to built a partnership and stop the rot. I think that he wont 'define' cricket but he has a huge chance of doing pretty well. Also, his average is 36 or something in NZ domestic cricket which is pretty poor to be honest.
