World Twenty20 XI

He came back and played some 1st class cricket and did good, like he usually does when healthy. But his 20/20 game hasn't been up to his standards, his batting hasn't been what he is "capable off" and his bowling is below some other players.
When he comes back and gets some wickets in 20/20 ill be the first one to put him in my team. But you cant put a player that has been injured for a long time in your team based on what he did 1-2 years ago. As far as I knew these things were done on form and who the best players at certain positions are but its your own opinion so go ahead.

Flintoff played in 5 games in the T20 world cup taking 5 wickets at 22, at an economy of just over a run a ball, if that's not impressive bowling in T20 then I don't know what is. He also wasn't bad with the bat, an average of 17.50's not too bad, especially considering he'd barely played in the run in to the T20 World Cup. As all-rounders go he'd be miles ahead of anyone in a t20 team for me, he can bowl yorkers at will, bowls rapid pace, has all the variations, and can give the ball a good tonk. Best all-rounder in the world for my money.

Well I guess for you stats like a batting average of 22.7 with one 50 and a bowling average of 22 and strike rate of 20 with a economy of 6.6 are better than 34.8 with 5 50s, bowling average of 19.6, strike rate 16.8 and economy of 7. First ones are Flintoffs and the other ones are Watson's.
Going by stats I would rather have Watson than Flintoff in a 20/20, but I guess Im the only one that uses stats in here.

In the 20/20 format of the game there are a few all-rounders that I would have ahead of Flintoff. Best all-rounder in the world atm when healthy? Without a doubt Flintoff but he has to come back and earn that pot in my mind, Watson came back from his injury and has been playing some great cricket in the IPL.

Exactly, in the IPL. Flintoff's stats come purely from the T20 World Cup, playing the best players in the world, Watson's facing average bowlers every game, and also average batsmen when bowling. His economy is higher than Flintoffs, his strike-rate is not much better, nor is his bowling average. The IPL cannot be compared with the T20 World Cup. Watson's T20 internatioal figures are poor compared with Flintoffs, and he's played much less games. I'd much rather have Flintoff.

as many if not more good bowlers play in the IPL than the T20 WC. and some of the best batsman from that WC are in it, if you ask me the competition is just as good.

here is mine:

Adam Gilchrist (wk)
Tamim Iqbal (this dude gonna get better--- he has a good future)
Brendon Mccullum
Andrew Flintoff
Misbah Ul Haq (captain --- he is the best!!)
Shane Watson
MS Dhoni
Shahid Afridi (for hitting some sixes in the end of the innings)
Lasith Malinga
Shoaib Akhtar
Muttiah Muralitharan (best spinner alive)

this team looks good...

You have a decent team, but it seems like you are going by the way the players have performed in the recent IPL.

Talking of Misbah,he could have become captain of Pakistan.

yeah its actually true... i have seen shane watson play really good for rajasthan, gilly is a great batsman, i have not picked mccullum for his IPL century but because he is one of my favorite players after he started firing sixes from the Bangladesh series in 2007...

and the bowlers... i have taken two chuckers like malinga and akhtar lol and spinners r also very good... and flintoff and watson can bowl well so overall it is actually a good team..

Adam Gilchrist
Gautam Gambhir
Yuvraj Singh
David Hussey/Andrew Symonds
Shane Watson
Rohit Sharma
Misbah Ul Haq
Daniel Vettori
Irfan Pathan
RP Singh/Manpreet Gony
Brett Lee

This is my team ... If I could have more players I'd definately consider McCullum,Gayle and Sehwag (maybe even Gibbs if he wasn't in such horrendous form)

Lack of Brendon Mccallum From a lot of these lists shocks me

158* anyone?

mccullum is great he is doing good in tests also thats why i included him in my team...

Gony has not actually performed too well in the IPL.

Adam Gilchrist +
Matthew Hayden
Gautam Gambhir
Shane Watson
Andrew Symonds
Rohit Sharma
Andrew Flintoff
Irfan Pathan
Shane Warne *
Glenn McGrath
Brett Lee

Looks pretty strong to me. 7 Aussies, 3 Indians, 1 Englishman. 4 top class bowlers in Lee, McGrath, Warne and Flintoff plus Irfan Pathan, Shane Watson and on a good day, Andrew Symonds. The batting line up is rather long as well. Warne is a fantastic captain as well.
