Good thing about consoles are - they're easy to pick up and play. No waiting on PC installation, booting etc. Quick and convenient.
Also, X360 is wireless so the couch potatoes can rejoice. It even opens/closes the disc tray. And for those married, the wife can assist putting the game disc
[ before you get your ass kicked. LOL ]
Also, games can be played on a big screen TV and look, feel great. Also, they work the same due to the HW being exactly same. On a PC, its very unlikely that 2 PC's will have the same look on the game.
Playing online is also easier with console.
That said, I love both console and PC games.
oh ! and few more points -
when you buy an Xbox 360 or PS3, HDTV should be there to enjoy it to the fullest. Games really come alive on the HD Resolutions.
Also, investing more in HDTV is better IMHO as you will watch TV also on it. HD channels like inHD, inHD2, ABC, NBC etc. look out of this world compared to SD ( standard def - 480i res ). Once you watch HD channels, you'll really be turned off by the lower resolution SD channels. Also, good for gaming.
The X360, PS3 already have 5.1 Dolby Sounds or more, incredible graphics ( GRAW anyone), good assortment of console exclusive games even on older systems ( God of War anyone ? ).
