Going into the Ashes, with the first test 4 days away, who do you guys think will make the biggest impact on the tournament?

I reckon Jimmy Anderson will emerge with a fire in his stomach and really take the game to the Aussies. He'll be the main man, in my opinion. We've already seen how good a bowler he is so now he just has to show why he's current the arrowhead of the English attack.

Kevin Pietersen. If he fires then England have a massive chance. If he fails then I feel the batting could be somewhat exposed. We need KP to set the tone.

The umpires. Maybe if they give a load of howlers against Australia we might have a sporting chance of winning.

First test: Billy Doctrove and Aleem Dar
Second test: Billy Doctrove and Rudi Koertzen
Third test: Aleem Dar and Rudi Koertzen
Fourth test: Asad Rauf and Billy Bowden
Fifth test: Asad Rauf and Billy Bowden

I can already see the 2nd test being a nightmare, Billy and Rudi? :laugh

Otherwise it looks pretty good but Matt, I don't think it's gonna happen :p

Jeff Crowe is the match referee for tests 1-3 while Ranjan Madugalle will be the match referee for the 4th and 5th test, so maybe you can incite an incident from the Aussies and get a few players banned :p

Marcus North for Australia. Very talented and consistent batsman. In my opinion, better than Symonds.

Ravi Bopara for England. Very handy player, and could be the difference in a tight matches.

It's cos Aussie Ben loved him I bet.

Anderson can really make the difference in a match, so him on top form will be crucial. KP as well. Definitely the best batsman in the side and him batting well is brilliant to watch.
