Guys like Rahane, Badrinath, Tiwary are not unknown talent. The IPL has given them that 'known quantity'.

Atul Sharma is an unknown quantity, and he sounds the biggest of the upcoming lot.

Lol that guy seems to be from Tamil origin looking at his name.
He has altered it from the original name Veerasamy Perumal.:p

could be, allot of people in the Caribbean come from the subcontinent.

He is a good young spinner, reminds me of a left arm Murali.

For me (India) the Best Unknown Talents are:

1.Cricket players appear more in ads.

2.Bowlers doing well in totally dead pitches.

3.Learning without coaches,

4.How to become a cricketer by playing less cricket and learning politics.

5.Accusing Foreign Coaches.

6.Useless money based tournaments like IPL.

Even though Brad Hodge seems to suffer under the international spotlight at times, even though he isn't 'unknown', I think he has amazing talent.

Indeed, some of the guys mentioned have played international cricket. I would say that as a rule, once selected to play for your country, you immediately go from unknown to known. Probably, in keeping with the style of the first two posts, I'd recommend trying to name players who have been around for less than 3 years, or if they have been around a while, have played less than 50 matches.
