The process is not long at all, once you have paid, you are upgraded to Gold instantly :) The shortest term of membership you can get is one month. For one month you have to pay approximately 4 GBP or 7 USD.

It doesn't matter if you're a Gold or Silver member. Both types of members will have the demo in their Marketplace, but only the Gold members are going to be able to actually download it.

You could always buy a GOLD membership for a month though. It's not that expensive :)

It will probably something small. As any demo, the goal is to introduce the player to the basic game mechanics, but leaving him craving for more. So I think you are going to get a taste of the batting, bowling and fielding :)

I will get it for my beloved PS3 and not Xbox 360, primarily because all of my friends got the PS3 :)

I've been a Playstation 3 gamer from the very beginning, and even with extensive purchases of games from both Canadian and American sites (i live in Europe), I have never heard of or recieved a region locked PS3 game. So I don't think you have nothing to worry about ;)
