Bitters use day off to advantage
After a 3 day win for the bitters, one would think a well deserved rest was in order but captain/coach/manager/team legend rickyp had other ideas. rickyp earlier today said, "We had a word to our sponsor Melbourne Bitter and they said that they would be glad to help us out reaching our goal, each player downing a slab within 2 hours. It seemed like a good idea, and all the players except one, who shall remain nameless, agreed." Despite physio Chris Parker's (hehe) strong recommendations to do 2 slabs in the alloted time, rickyp controversially said yes then kept the extra 11 slabs to himself. Parker hasnt regained his voice since.
In other bitters news, the mcg has been demoted as the prime venue for home games. rickyp said moments earlier, "you just cant go past the chappeli for atmosphere. I also cant complain about the brilliantly green looking pitch, it makes easy work for the bowlers especially myself." Melbourne will play the remainder of this years home games at the Chappel Oval after finding out over the recent first class match that it is more than world class quality.
