Basel triumphed 3-1 against Leverkusen thanks to some very good counter-attacking play. Emmanuel Emenike gave Basel the lead, heading Roberto Firmino's cross home. Stefan Jovetic equalised for Leverkusen after the Basel goalkeeper spilled Bale's shot. Firmino gave Basel the lead, with a lovely dipping shot. Charlie Austin doubled the lead for Basel, with a poacher's finish.

A Robin van Persie brace gave Manchester United the bragging rights over rivals City. Robin van Persie gave United the lead, with a bullet header. Van Persie doubled the lead with a simple finish from close range. James pulled one back for City, with a stunning volley but it wasn't enough

Arsenal caused a major upset by defeating PSG thanks to some great goalkeeping from Vincent Enyeama. Theo Walcott gave Arsenal the lead on the brink of halftime, latching onto Ozil's through-ball. Walcott's effort proved to be the only goal in this match.

Milan 3 vs Chelsea 2

Milan survived a late scare from Chelsea to win 3-2. Kaka finished off a spectacular team move to give Milan an unlikely lead. Torres finished off another great team goal, putting it just past Courtois to make it 2-0. Didier Drogba headed in Kaka's corner to make it 3-0. Luis Suarez headed in Azpilicueta's cross to get a seemingly consolation goal. But, there was more to come as Cuadrado smashed the ball in from distance to make it 3-2, but it wasn't enough.

Bayern 1 vs Atletico 2

Bayern and Atletico played out a spectacular match which was settled by a late, late Mandzukic goal. A foul by Miranda in the box gave Bayern a penalty in the 15th minute. Thomas Muller stepped up to take it, but Casillas saved the penalty with ease. Mario Mandzukic and Koke combined for the umpteenth time, as Mandzukic headed home Koke's cross on the brink of haltime to gave Atleti the lead. Jeremy Toulalan grabbed a dramatic late equaliser for Bayern, finishing off a slick passing move. But, Aletico and Mandzukic had different ideas as they struck immediately. Mandzukic headed Ivanovic's cross home to settle the contest once and for all.

Zenit went out with a very attacking approach and it paid off as they defeated Benfica 2-0. Alexandre Meier gave Zenit the lead after good work from Fellaini. A Hulk through-ball found Negredo, who converted it to make the score 2-0.

Barcelona won 3-2 against Porto thanks to Neymar's brace. Porto enjoyed a fast start, with Adrian Ramos heading in Isco's cross. Neymar equalised just 5 minutes later, rounding Manuel Neuer before slotting it in. Adrian Ramos put Porto in the lead once again, with a carbon copy of the first goal. Wayne Rooney made it 2-2 with a curling free-kick. Neymar gave Barcelona the lead with a shot that hit the clipped the inside of the post before crossing the line.

Shakhtar won 4-3 against Valencia in a match which burst into life in the last 25 minutes.Luiz Adriano converted a 14th minute penalty after Stefan de Vrij committed a foul in the box. Lionel Messi equalised for Valencia in the 34th minute, with a rare header. Kevin de Bruyne restored the lead for Shakhtar with a long-range stunner. Felipe Melo headed in a Leo Messi freekick to equalise for Valencia. Shakhtar restored the lead almost immediately as Castan headed in a Krychowiak corner. Messi took just 5 minutes to equalise, curling the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box. Jonathan Soriano made it 4-3 with a thumping header.

Real Madrid edged a close game against Juventus thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's early goal. Ronaldo gave Real Madrid the lead with a bullet header. Real Madrid adopted a more defensive approach after the goal, and looked potent on the counter.

Spurs scored a dramatic late winner to earn three important points. Radamel Falcao handed Spurs the lead after the hour-mark after displaying some beautiful footwork to get into a goalscoring position. Ibrahimovic equalised for Dortmund in no time, converting van der Vaart's cross at the far post. Michael Carrick bagged a late winner, volleying Gerrard's cross.
