TOUGH LEAVES FOR TRAINING COURSE

Celtic Manager Craig Tough has resigned from the job after having his Manager training application accepted by the FA. Tough will go on a 6 month course and will be available in November. Tough told fans that it was the only chance he'd get to do the course, as there is only one every 5 years. The course takes place in France and Tough says that it will be a huge learning curve for him, but as soon as he gets back he wants to manage.

TOUGH TAKES LYON POST

In a sensational return to management, former Celtic manager Craig Tough has taken charge at struggling Ligue 1 Orange club Olympique Lyonnais. Tough has been acquiring his coaching badges in a six month course in Lyon prior to the appointment and has all of the required badges to manage in every competition, and Lyon Chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has said that after former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier's sacking 3 weeks ago after Lyon suffered their 6th defeat and stooped to 8th in the table, they needed a new 'lease of life'. However, without a manager, Lyon's form has taken a turn for the better and are now up to 4th place 11 points behind AS Monaco at the top, and Aulas is looking to Tough to try and cut that gap as much as he can. Also, French won't be a problem for Tough as he speaks fluent French from his College days, however he will have a translator along with him at every conference in case he is a little rusty.

Aulas: "Tough is the right man for us."
