Hello Everone and welcome to Eden Gardens, Kolkata for the 1st ODI between India & Pakistan. It has always been exciting to see these two teams clash and we surely can expect loads of excitement today.The sun is shining bright, the weather is pretty warm for the player's liking. It'll be a tough day in the field for them. The pitch is dusty and will assist the spinners throughout.

The Pakistani captain Rameez Aslam won the toss and to everyone's surprise elected to bowl first. Maybe they have some game plan...

Ursonly11 and Ashwin started off brilliantly for India. They were watchful and cautious and made sure they didn't loose early wickets. Together they added 102 runs for the opening wicket, in which Ursonly11 completed his half century. Both of the openers were looking strong until Khalek was brought back into the attack and provided the breakthrough. He dismissed Ashwin at the score of 42 runs. Pakistan struck again and managed to pick up well set ursonly11 for 57 runs. India were 106/2. Shubhrayu and Tarzan steadied the innings and added 39 runs for the 3rd wicket before 6X Afridi struck again and dismissed Shubhrayu. Tarzan and jobanjit tried to steady the innings and were successful to some extent but then Pakistan struck again and dismissed Tarzan for 40 runs. It was this partnership that provided India the runs they were looking for. jobanjit and harishtelu took the attack to the Pakistani bowlers and scored aggressively. jobanjit manged to reach his half century. At the end of 50 overs India managed 272/6.

The Pakistani openers had a tough task ahead. They had to provide a good platform for the team and they didn't disappoint. Aamir Ansari and Rameez were cautious at the start. They played themselves in and hit the bad balls for boundaries. Together they added 89 runs for the opening wicket. The first breakthrough was provided by Jobanjit. Aamir Ansari was dismissed for 48 runs. Jobanjit struck again and this time it was the captain Rameez who walks back to the pavilion. Pakistan were 108/2. India struck again and ali786 walks back. Pakistan are in trouble at 126/3. Pakistan reuired a good partnership here to steady the innings and they got it in the form of Khalek and Pakistani Army. Together they added 50 runs and hopes were alive for Pakistan. But then India struck back and struck twice. Pakistan were in deep trouble at 184/5 reuqiring 89 runs off the last 10 overs.

Shahid Afridi and 6 X Afridi provided some hopes as they added 56 runs for the 6th wicket but it was too late and the required rate never seemed to be within reach. At the end of 50 overs, Pakistan could only manage 245 for the loss of 7 wickets.

India win the 1st ODI by 27 runs.

For his brilliant all round performnace, Jobanjit was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Thats all from the 1st ODI. Tune in again for the 2nd ODI of this series. It'll be interesting to see if Pakistan fights back or India expand their lead with another win...
