Freo nearly won,... just ran out of steam in time on... good effort from the boys. Just wished pav and mcpharlin kicked those goals late in the game

And to your question, yes, Port were better in 2007 than 08.

Also it would take quite a lot of effort to sit through an AFL game and not know who the opposition were at the end of it
It was Power against North Melbourne at AAMI (12th July). Port probably should have won but gave away 6 pointers with silly errors like kicking to Kangaroos players from defence in front of their own goal. I've got the programme around somewhere - think it was round 17 (?).

Oh I thought you were at the MCG? Yeah Port aren't great this year, North Melbourne are a very tough side, not overly skilled but they work as hard as any team out there.No need to patronise me

I am hoping to get to a game of AFL before the end of the season, though I am not sure yet if I can Collingwood will be playing in Perth when I am in Melbourne...so I guess I need to pick a game that weekend. Or goto the VFL.
I am glad Collingwood is doing better the last two weeks, with Dawes, Anthony, and McCarthy looking decent, Anthony has surprised me since he is a backman and now he is playing forward, Dawes came to Collingwood with a knee injury so like Anthony he has not had much time to develop.
But things are looking good there, now we get a decent midfield and replace our backline Wakes and Presti will be gone soon, and we're going to need to tough defender down there.

Well it seems according to the Sunday Slime that Pav will miss the rest of the season with that knee complaint, i say....
give him some pain killer injections, strap it up, dunk him at full forward, than hell be right.

Pav would have played any other time he has played through worse injuries than this.
But the team want to use the remaining games to try to test out the other forwards an see if its worth keeping them or trading them.
Murphy an Campbell need to perform an are being given a forward line without Pav being the target to show what they have got.
Hope the team work on strength an fitness during the preseason seems they desperately need to work on it looking at how many close games we have lost this season
