Burton out for season

The High flying superstar from the Adelaide Crows, Brett Burton will miss the remainder of the Season.
The Adelaide Crows confirmed today, that Burton has Ostetitis Pubis and will miss the remainder of the 2007 season. Burton has been in good form for the Crows this season, playing as a experienced midfielder, something different compared to his other years, as he was a focal point up foward. With the changes of McLeod and Johncock playing forward, Burton has played in defence this year aswell, and is liking the freedom of roaming around marking uncontested balls. The Crows will soarly miss Burton throughout the year, and which already looks to be a struggling year for the Crows.

After the fall of Brett Burton who will miss the rest of the season, Adelaide has promoted Turner to their Senior List. Recent Form: The Blues had a 7 point loss last week vs the Kangaroos at the MCG, it was a hard fought game, both teams played well, and it was a entertaining match for 2 young sides. The Blues had the edge early in the 3rd quarter, before North over ran them, and snatched the victory.

Adelaide: A a good win over Richmond. A very high scoring game from both teams, 35 goals were kicked between the 2 sides, with Trent Hentschel kicking 5 for the visitors. The Crows with their only 2nd win of the Season, will be looking to knock off the Blues in Saturday's match at the Telstra Dome.

Blue day for Adelaide
--------------------------------------------------------------
Herald Sun Article by Hayden Sumner

Carlton have easily occupied the Crows in Saturdays battle at the Telstra Dome. Carlton ended up 51 point winners over the helpless Crows. 21 goals for the Blues were kicked, with Brendan Fevola kicking a career high 8 goals. The Fev was on fire right from the word go. Not only did Fevola kick the goals for the Blues, he also was the recipient in 5-6 other goal attacks. He looks in good form, and playing a good performing side, is what Fev has always wanted. Ryan Houlihan, known as a defender, played a sweeping role up forward, and was rewarded with his efforts, kicking his career high 6 goals for the Blues as well.

Brendan Fevola kicks another goal for the Blues

The Crows were pretty poor. After leading at Quarter time by a goal, the Crows just fell away. Only 1 goal, to the Blues 6 scored in the 2nd quarter was the start of things. Adelaide kicked 5 goals in the 3rd term, but were outclassed by Carlton who kicked 8. Adelaide were good, but Carlton just outplayed them at every oppourtunity.
Trent Hentschel was a shining light up forward, kicking 6 goals, that's his 11th goal in 2 weeks, kicking bags of 5 and 6 goals respectivly. Ian Perrie and Matthew Bode were major contributors to the Crows score kicking 2 goals each.Graham Johncock continued his good season form, with another high possesion game, he is having a great season, being in the top 20 in disposals in the league.

Melbourne vs Adelaide @ MCG Round 10

2 Teams nearing the bottom of the ladder took battle at the MCG in the round 9 between Adelaide and Melbourne.
It was the Crows in the 1st 30 seconds of the match, kicking the 1st goal of the game, thanks to midfielder, Robert Shirley. A coupe of minutes later, defender Nathan Bassett had a run down the ground, and slooted home a goal from the 50 arch.
The Demons hit back, with 4 un answered goals, to lead by 8 points at Quarter time.
The Crows opened the 2nd quarter with 3 goals early. Just a minute into the play, Nathan Bock went forward and kicked a goal, and with Hentschel and Edwards kicking the other 2 goals for the Crows, they got out to a lead. 6 goals to finish out the quarter by the Demons, was a brilliant effort. The Demons led by 3 goals at Half time. It has beeen a goal for goal game at the moment, one team kicks consectuive goals and gets out to a handy lead, but then the other team fight back and get the lead back. But from Half time, it was all the Demons. 9 goals to 6 2nd half, saw Melbourne run out 42 point winners infront of a small crowd of 28 thousand at the MCG.

Aaron Davey was the leading goal kicker on the ground kicking 5. Brad Miller with 4 and Brad Green kicked 3 were the major goal kickers for the Demons. For the Crows, Johncock managed 3 majors, while leading goal kicker, Trent Hentschel only managed 2 for the game. Bock and Bassett 2 defenders getting amonst the goals for the Crows.
The next generation of midfielders, Chris Knights and Nathan VanBerlo were good for the Crows. Knights having 32 possesions, equal leader for the Crows, while VanBerlo played across half back and had 25 possesions and took 10 marks.
Adelaide will be starring down at the wooden spoon if they keep loosing games like this...

:(. Just sad now, i can't see them get anywhere near closer to the eight now. I just hope they get another couple of wins on the board before the end of the season.

When you Crow boys lose, you like to lose in style ouch!

Shame about the loses, good updates though just make sure there is no win against Collingwood. ;)

The Demons won a game.

Sorry, I'm afraid this story isn't very realistic.

Haha mate, I'm just kidding, looks fantastic, good to see an AFL story floating around on these boards. Keep it up mate, been unlucky with injuries and the like, but perhaps a few seasons of decent drafting will get you back up there.

Adelaide loose number 10 for the Season

The Adelaide Crows have lost their 10th match of the Season to go 2 andf 10 at the end of the split Round 12. Adelaide lost to the Kangaroos by 27 points at Manuka Oval in Canberra to end up at the bottom of the ladder. The Kangaroos led by Michael Firrito who had a stunning 32 possesions for the Roos came away with the win. Corey Jones was dangerous up forward, and the margin at the end of the game could of been a lot greater if Jones kicked straight, he finished the day with 1 goal and 7 behinds, something he'd rather forget, but the Crows would consider themselves lucky not to be blown out of the water with the wayward kicking from the Roos forwards.

125515ks2.jpg

For the Crows not much to be pleased with. Only Graham Johncock could manage more then 1 goal for the Crows, and he only kicked 2. It was good to see Campbell and Darren Pfeiffer kick goals for the Crows, there looking to their younger players to play with so many injuries to key and experienced players, and Campbell and Pfeiffer both played very good games for the Crows.
