I know this is off topic, but the link prec sent me has nothing to do with cricket...so can someone tell me pleeeeeeeeeease.

Australia won a hard fought victory in the final few balls with Micheal Clarke being a star. Thats all you need to know my little friend:)

I always thought highly of Bucknor, thought he was a great umpire untill the floodgates opened after the Sydney Test.

Ah is that when Clarke was on a hattrick but didn't get it, however got the wicket one ball after? I remember that.

Basically it involved a lot of sulking, toys being thrown out of prams and general abuse by a certain group of people ;) No suprised by the majority of the voters for Bucknor.....

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened. I couldn't have put it better myself. I think you'll find the Aussie fans were very nonchalant about the whole situation. I mean, you would expect them to have said the Indian fans were constantly whining but I admire their attitude. Well done Aussies. He isn't reading this but I'd also like to congratulate Ricky Ponting on not interfering with the umpires' decision making, I thought that was very selfless of him. A heartfelt mention also goes out to Bruce Oxenford who bamboozled me with his sheer brilliance and expert use of the cameras and his eyes.

I've largely forgotten the entire incident but it annoys me when people accuse us fans like that. If you don't believe I'm largely over it, well I advise you see who won the recent test series between India and Australia rather comfortably.

.....and Bucknor on his super vision of a close shout from 21 yards away, top class umpiring, went with his gut feeling, trusted himself, kudos.

At least that certain group of people can win a cricket match every now and then.

What was it, oh yes - 2-0 against the 'the team who's integrity can never be questioned', 5-0 and 1-0 against a team that needs mints to swing a ball.

Lol, Rohit, you ruined it.

There should have a been a 'both are equally bad' option. A mistake is a mistake and I know when some are excusable and when they're not, both have made some shocking decisions. For example, Flintoff vs Kallis LBW appeal, that was a shocking decision, but Aleem Dar made up for it by being on top of his game bar that decision.

Yeah next time remind us not to come back to a country which has terrorists running around in it and murdering hundreds. Arrogance doesn't sit well with you......

Now go back to burning your effigies or whatever it is you do in your spare time when you aren't trying to work out ways you have been wronged

And there was obviously no pathetic umpiring to speak of. Just random sulking done by the forum sulking populace.

And he's still out there third-umpiring international games. :)

It is admirable how many stereotypes you've managed to fit into two posts. Kudos! :clap

Big deal, you had a couple of bad decisions. Not like it was the end of the world, every team has them

Thanks, it wasn't hard :)

I love it when you do that Sohum.
<3 Reciprocated.

Meanwhile, I will try to find the document I compiled of Steve Bucknor's woeful umpiring. :)

It's a shame, though. Bucknor used to be the best in the world, but he didn't know when to call it quits. Asoka de Silva, however, has always been mediocre. I guess in that regard, Bucknor is slightly better.
