To be honest I have had no issue with anyone that I have played so far on line

This rules seem a tad unneccessary to me as if someone plays in a way i don't agree to then I just don't play them again - simple as that.

Why not just have it that you can only use default fields - no custom field settings

Oh - I can confirm that Valerian is a sound player it's just his connection that is the problem - but he is upgrading to a better internet servings providings soon

I can't afford to be that picky Half the people I try to play with I get the "cannot connect to host" error. I have only completed games against yourself (twice), the_gas (twice), chrisW & dtadams81.

I think it's fair to describe it as quite frustrating.

ok so non of you have a problem with people balling yorkers all the time(i mean all six balls). I just cant seem to play yorkers online for some reason. seems like its just me and no one else has this problem (as the-gas explained to me). any suggestion people what i should do to play yorkers online. i dont have a problem with AI offline. its just online. :help

8-1 fields are a tactic that can be beat so easily in a large number of ways. It's much more difficult to play against someone who uses something like a 6-3 field with well-placed fielders and then bowls mostly way outside off with the occasional ball coming in for surprise - this greatly limits the countertactics you can safely use.

The non-custom fields are super lame. The problem is that all the otherwise "good" fields have 1-2 slips, or fielders in areas where people basically never play shots like fine leg and stuff. The ball never goes to slip in this game so it's useless to have one and it's rare that you would bowl deliveries that could be hit to fine leg. Also it is more interesting to change your field to adjust to what the opposing batsman is trying to do, but this takes forever when using default fields because you have to go through them all to find the one you want, which might still suck.

The only really lame unbeatable tactic out there is to lag a lot and then bowl with a team that has all fast bowlers, and I can't really hate people for lagging since it's usually not their fault. If I were to set up a tournament I would mandate max 2 fast bowlers and 1 mandatory spinner per team, just for balance issues. Even then the teams that had 2 would be much better than those that had 1. For example West Indies are way better than India in this game, since even tail enders can score just fine but fast bowlers are so much better than anything else and WI have 2 to India's 1.

What about bowling yorkers all six bowls, or bowling Off cutters outside the off stump all six bowls ?

All in all i feel that off cutters outside the off stump are result of a glitch in the gaming system , when when mixed with the right skill can make online play repetitive & boring.
