From the day the game got released at least one person is having a rant about not getting a decent realistic gameplay. Whatever be the reason most of them feel the gameplay is sloppy and not up-to mark. This really makes me wonder what these guys were doing during BLIC07 and EA 07 days. Seriously AC09 has one of the best gameplay ever for a cricket game, i.e., if you don't make use of the AI limitations. None the less from day number one, I am able to get a decent gameplay with this game, not the best but at least decent.
Here are few tips that might help you:
Here are few tips that might help you:
- Do not exploit the AI, remember the AI is as such a computer program with limited capabilities. Unlike football, it is very difficult to code a perfect AI for cricket so don't over use its limitations. E.g. If you find a line and length to which the AI is vulnerable, then try to keep the ball away from that particular one. Also, try to minimize the yorkers.
- Try to play test cricket like a test. Even in reality the bowlers and the fielders are same no matter whether it is a test or ODI, only the batsman approach is different. Do not loft every ball over the in-field. If cricketers do the same thing, even they can get very high scores.
- Do not convert the off-side ball to a leg-side shot. This normally results in a lot of runs and makes scoring very easy.
- Do not over utilize the custom field setup, having 5-6 fielders on the off-side and bowling according to the field will definitely restrict the AI.
- Use the player editor and lower some skills of your players, do not set everything to 100 for any batsmen or bowler.
