We're up to 12th after Richmond's loss to the Bulldogs which is quite encouraging to see. We definitely aren't a 16th placed team anymore, and I can really see us beating Adelaide next week at the G. Unfortunately their loss at AAMI to Sydney might have motivated them but I still reckon we are a big chance.

Anyway... 12th people! Our highest position in years, and we still haven't won a game this season.

I haven't watched Barlow yet, is his disposal as bad as Bradd's? Cause Dalziell is a ball magnet but lacks hurt factor due to his one pace (though he is fit) and lack of kicking penetration.

Unfortunately their loss at AAMI to Sydney might have motivated them but I still reckon we are a big chance.

The thing about Barlow is that he has fantastic skills. In a few years he will probably be considered to have the best hand balling skills in the league. No joke. He has extreme poise under pressure and usually makes the right decision. His kicking doesn't seem to lack penetration although he doesn't usually go for the long bomb but his passing seems fine. There hasn't been any uncontested clangers from Barlow that I have seen. He is a pretty good set shot for goal to. He has had 3 and kicked 2. So as they say 2 outa 3 aint bad. The other thing apart from the fact that he racks up the possies is that he has a well seasoned body. He has played against men for 2 years in the VFL and doesn't seem fazed about throwing his body in there. He also seems to have the fitness to run out the four quarters well.

So yeah, thats Barlow for ya.

PS: Obviously very happy about Freo's start to the year. I will be at the game on sunday against the cats. Although not expecting a win, but expecting a good contest.

What's the bet now that Barlow will go no good once I've traded him in dreamteam for Dustin Martin.

I think Freo could have a chance to beat the cats, but the crowd needs to be noisy and the pressure has to be right on.

Wow, what a performance by Freo. Thought they were gone, but came back and won it. I wish I tipped them, I've had two 4's in a row now.

Regardless defs the best game I have ever been to. Freo struggled to get 30 000 to their round 1 match, and the crowd was easily over 38 000 and by God it was loud. One of the loudest and thrilling atmospheres at a football match I have been apart of. Great game.
