Coming soon, computer for students @ Rs. 1500/- only

"Our ultimate objective would be to bring down the price to Rs 470. And this can be done by mass production of such devices. It is just a matter of time that the potential of the device is felt by the corporate sector,” he added.

“We have come out with the device at Rs 1,500 and now we invite individuals, entrepreneurs, firms and industries to produce the device as cheaper rates than this,” he said.

The gadget will surely have a massive positive impact, will be really helpful for all the students, also 1500 is cheap..

Thanks Kapil sir & the team who made this project a success

India rocking on cheapest devices...

first TATA nano(cheapest car) and then a computer cum Laptop....
Go India Go!!!:banana

I hate these things. Makes my HTC Touch Pro (Rs 33K) look like a definite waste of money. (Not that i had much doubts earlier.. but this just confirms it :p )
Also, not to forget my decently-good laptop.

I hope a major flaw in the device is found out soon :D

If all goes well I am planning on new thing with this device in my company. It will change the face of education in India. ;)

Hopefully this actually gets to production. I doubt it will have decent computing power or capabilities though. Anyone who can afford a decent laptop will never buy this, it seems too limited in what it can do.

Great move by the government of India! This will be of immense help to our mostly middle class population residing in rural areas for whom computers are still a dream. I'm seeing it as a leap in our endeavour to provide every citizen with basic computer and internet facilities.

Machines can't do that when mentality needs an awakening,

Well someone has to start the change. And I am not talking about this device making the change, I was talking of idea I have.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, do you mean the idea you will implement in your company will/might change the face of education in India?
