Firstly, this is not a simulation game. This is a pure strategy game.
There is going to be an auction in the Indian Premier League for a 20-20 tournament with new kind of rules altogether, and you are being selected as a Manager for selecting the right players in the auction by the franchise owners.
As there will be no simulation, the players will be given specific points based on their record, form, etc. There will be certain criteria for selecting the squad, keeping all the criteria in mind, you have to select a squad where you can maximize the total points (sum of all individual player points) for your team . The maximum limit of money you can spend on auction is $10,000,000
The Manager, who selects the best team (maximum points) will be the winner.
Squad rules (Criteria):
1. Minimum no of players - 15, Maximum no of players - 22
2. Minimum no of Indian Players - 7, Maximum no of Indian Players - 10
3. Minimum no of foreign Players - 8, Maximum no of foreign Players - 12
4. Atleast Three under-22 players (from any country)
5. Atleast Five batsmen
6. Atleast Five bowlers
7. Atleast Three All-rounders
8. Atleast Two Wicket-keepers
The list of players available for auction will contain all the necessary details like (Age, Country, type of player, base price and their points)
There are many strategies to win this game. One golden rule is keep probing what other team is doing and always have an eye on the criteria list.
Auction Rules:
1. In a round there will be 15 players for the auction. There will be totally 12 rounds and 180 players will be auctioned.
2. The auction will take place in the thread itself.
3. You have to auction for a player within 24hrs of the previous bid.
4. Minimum bid increase $10,000 if bid value value is upto $200,000; min bid increase $50,000 if bid value is between $200,000 and $700,000; min bid increase $100,000 for bid amount greater than $700,000
5. If a particular round gets over, the players will not be re-auctioned.
Order of Auction:
Players will be auctioned in a group of 15 based on their nationality.
Round 1 - West Indies & New Zealand
Round 2 - India
Round 3 - Pakistan
Round 4 - Australia
Round 5 - India
Round 6 - England
Round 7 - India
Round 8 - Srilanka
Round 9 - India
Round 10 - South Africa
Round 11 - India
Round 12 - Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ireland & Netherlands
At the end of each round, the manager's info will be updated with the players bought, total points, money spent and remaining money.
There will be penalty of points if you don't follow the criteria. If you miss one player according to the criteria then your top rated player's points will
get subtracted from your total points. If you miss two players, then top 2 player's points will get subtracted, like this it goes on.
At any point of time, maximum the auction can happen for two rounds.
