This thread is to allow people getting the game on Xbox 360 to sign up for an online tournament. It was my intention to make this thread once the game had a release date. But it has been made by a moderator, so it's up and running now. I have gone into more details in post number 7. Anyone wanting to sign up then please pick a team on the list below and PM me or post on this thread and I will designate that team to you. Please only message me if your are certain you will be getting the game on xbox and either on release day. Or very close to it. Oh yes, and NO T20!

West indies
England
South Africa
Pakistan
India
Bangladesh
Sri Lanka
Australia
New Zealand

Please see future posts for updates on taken teams. First come first serve!

To hell with players. First thing I'm going to do is start an xbox tournament.
With the save online feature that's my goal. Will make a thread (will prob be deleted) showing the table and results. In fact I'm going to ask a mod right now if it will be deleted if I open one. :D

No, I will resist temptation, as I can see the response now....."make the thread once the game has been released".

I am planning to get it on XBOX too, so I am pretty happy to play the tournament. Keep me posted on this.:)

Will do. I will make a thread once we get a release date so people can sign up. We can all exchange ideas on the best tournament mode that makes everyone happy. I call West Indies btw! You want me to put you as India?

Yup india it is.

I've split this out because I'd rather you make a thread than be off topic in another one. The general reason we wouldn't have a thread like this is because people might end up not getting the game - but if everyone posting is certain they'll be getting the game, then it's fine.

Can you host one for ps3 players as well :D?? Obviously you would not be able to participate in it as you are getting it for xbox....but still if you can just host it, it would be great :)!

Thanks mattW. I was putting off making the thread until the game got a release date. But as its been made for me then its all good!

In reply to angad, I don't see the point in me hosting a ps3 tournament as I won't have anything to do with the event itself. I will let a ps3 member do that if they wish.

*ON TOPIC*
As mattW said, if people can only sign up if they 100% know they will be getting this game. And for XBOX 360 too. :p
I'm open for suggestions as to the format. With the save online feature it will make it easy to play the longer formats. As I'm hosting I have the right to say NO t20. If anyone wants a t20 tournament then please make your own.
For me a World Cup style tournament would work best. However a league style tournament with everyone playing each other once home and once away could be fun. But please PM me with any ideas and team requests. Currently the taken teams are:

West Indies = Gone4aDuck
India = srk121
England =
Australia =
South Africa =
Pakistan=
Sri Lanka =
Bangladesh =
New Zealand =

I would be happy to add the likes of Canada, Kenya, Zimbabwe. But I feel most people wouldn't want to play with lesser skilled nations. Obviously it's a first come first serve basis for the teams.

Shame you are not on PS3. Would have been nice to have had a game or two together. But great that tournaments and things are starting to pop up. Such a special thing for people to be able to be even thinking about playing a decent game of cricket online again!

I don't see why it's asking too much for developers to make games that can be played online cross-platform.

They would in an instant I'm sure - but Sony and Microsoft would never allow a game on their platforms to do it.

I'm on ps3 too. But I prefer to play games on Xbox. Perhaps in the distant future when this game is in the bargain bin I will pick it up on ps3.

Would love to do it.... I can't ever see it happening.

This game is already pushing the boundaries with player sharing!

Well you adding the online save feature is the only reason this can go ahead so I can't thank you enough for finding a way to add it. :cheers
And if for some reason what we class as saving online has been misunderstood. Please don't tell me about it. You'll crush my gentle spirit with that news.

Not sure what you mean there. You can save a game and continue it at a later time, however, maybe to clarify, PC saves are PC only, PS3 saves are PS3 only, Xbox360 saves are Xbox360 only.

The common disconnects with previous online cricket titles meant it was near impossible to complete matches of any substance (and even if it didn't, who has the patience to play a full ODI online in one sitting all that often?) - so made making tournaments online hard.
