India tour of Sri Lanka - July/Sept 2017

Still going on, and Rahane is out there instead of Pandya! Oh god! :facepalm
Even I thought Pandya is coming to smack. Why do you need to continue if you are not sending a power hitter even after a lead of 550.

I predicted this very result. Way before the match even started!!!

Would have been an innings victory had India not batted again. On the positive side from Sri Lanka, they seem to play positive cricket which is always a good sign.

Great match that! Dhawan scoring runs and classy game from Pujara was great to watch. All the bowlers picked up wickets and showed some consistency with their bowling.

Hope to see some interesting results in the rest of the series. I hate one sided games and love to watch those close and thrilling finishes. :)

Well pretty predictable win by India. Good to see Dhawan, our third choice opener in form and Pujara as well. Good signs for our team.
Still, I don't know why people still bring up the fact SL defeated Australia in 2016 because Aus were still quite a weak team in spin friendly conditons and they had useless players like Voges and Mitch Marsh. There is no way SL is going to do well against teams like India, Pakistan or Bangladesh because they know how to play spin and can beat them very convincingly. It is shocking and sad to see where the Sri Lankan team is going. Once Herath is retired they are going to slip further.

Pujara batting alongside Rahane, treat to watch these two bat.

Dominating day of play from India should look to replicate better than the last test. With Pandya and other in the shed and no frontline seamer, this could go horribly wrong for Sri Lanka.

Always nice to see Rahane and Pujara do well. Both are very suited to the game and are starting to command their positions for years to come.

Again India will look to maybe get around 550 if it can be get. Really poor decision form Sri Lanka not to play another front line pace bowler. You ain't going to get much turn form the pitch straight away from Day 1. Pradeep certainly needed to have maybe Kumara at the other end to manage his workload. Seeing Rahane and Pujara is a good sin for India moving forward. I am sure they will play a key role of the Test series aganist South Africa.

Ashwin ahead of Pandya? Not sure how the latter would be feeling about that.

Yup. Pandya is a batting all rounder. He has to play ahead of Ashwin. And he did well in the last match. Maybe Kohli is keeping him down the order to come out and smash if these two get us to a decent score.

And I forgot about Saha. He might be feeling let down too. I don't think Ashwin is that accomplished a batsman to be coming ahead of those two.

Just watch Ashwin tear into SL here and boost his stats yet again! Turning square.

It's good that Rahane is the one who is standing at slips. Not too sure if Kohli is the best person to be there.

Does anyone else feel the latest revamp has made cricinfo worse? Accessibility to player profiles from the summary page has been diminished and details are presented in a very shoddy manner. Facebook integration has killed the comments section under articles too.

Couldn't agree with it more. The UX is horrible. Add to it the constant jerky page refreshes and you are forced to follow some other site for updates.

This is brilliant counterattacking cricket from Sri Lanka. For the 1st time in the series they have managed to put some sort of a pressure on the Indians still a long way to go though ,the best part is how they played Jadeja they just don't allow him to settle and used the sweep shot to good effect.

P.S - Not trying to jinx them.
