I wouldn’t, I want it independent of skill level, just a simple on/off option

For example I would like to bat with simplified controls and radar on and bowl with dbc controls and probably radar off

I am no elitist player and above would suit me perfectly
yes but when it comes to online, you want the players to play on equal footing, so maybe in setup have it on/off toggles as well -- we shall see whats up ;) can be "fixed" in patches I suppose

I'd like it automatically disabled at higher difficulty levels, not even an option to put it on :), the casual gamers can play with it on, on easy :)
Same to what I think for 2 different controls(1 stick and 2 stick)...1 stick one should be disabled on higher level!

No there must have an option of ON/OFF to cater for every gamer right from novice to Advanced gamer to select their choice.

My one question regarding the pitch marker... we were always told that the pitch area where the ball will land cannot be shown as it's impossible to know where the ball will land on the pitch since it depends on the user input and the user input process is not complete till the last moment. You could show the colored marker around the ball indicating length coz you knew the general length of the delivery as chosen by the bowler but not the exact spot, i.e. exact line as well as length.

Given the pitch marker is shown before the bowler bowls the delivery does that mean the "user input" is no longer a factor in the bowling process? I don't think this is as simple as turning on/off the hud as the bowling process and user input should be independent of the HUD or what you show on the screen. To me this falls more in the AC09 and IC2010 territory than lining up with DBC14 & DBC17. Would love to hear Big Ant folks' comments and would really appreciate if @MattW or @CricketOtaku could provide a few details.

why? if someone wants all the difficulties of timing and AI challenge but prefers to play one control method vs another, what benefit is gained by closing that off and what possible difference does it make to you, as long as you have the choice to play the game you wish?

Mainly being an online player myself, the game is lost/won on reading opponent's mind... if CPU/AI controls the footwork/shot placement of one of the players,it will be easier for him to judge as he just needs to time it and the CPU/AI will do the rest...!! Whereas, the other player playing with old controls will have no other options but to play on same controls as opponent to beat him. That's why I want it to be restricted to old controls for LEGEND difficulty...!!!

So in order to cater to you, everyone else has to play the game using controls they are not comfortable with?! Yup that makes a lot of sense! The whole point of control "options" is to cater to everyone.

Nice surprise to see the release of this is so imminent. I knew BA were working on something but didn't know it was an Ashes game or would be out so soon :).

First reaction on playing the video on this page... There's a fielding radar now? I liked looking at the field to see the gaps tbh. Hoping the rest of the gameplay does not "dumb down" too much if this is any indication.

After what I thought was a huge disappointment in DBC17, I'm going wait this one out and see what the consensus is.

Edit - Just seen the pitch marker... :facepalm
