Talha Hayat powers a 55-ball 80 not out to take The Avengers to 339/4 - the highest score at The Floating Marvel in TPCL history - and what an occasion to achieve that feat.
In a three-game series with the scores tied at one-each - The Avengers have piled-up the highest score in the history of The Floating Marvel against a bowling-heavy unit.

Franklin Jacob - the leading wicket-taker of The Kumar Vishal Trophy went wicketless. Fadhl Rukanah struck twice at the end of the innings to somewhat stall progress.
Naman A7 and Müller Schwanstegger were very ineffective, even though the latter brought an end to a 175-run partnership, but that can be attributed to fatiguing batsmen.

Sod Anderson and Ahmed Leo added the aforementioned 175-run stand for the first-wicket - providing The Avengers with the base to score the highest total at the venue.
Appu Kiran chipped-in with a cameo towards the end - but it was definitely Talha Hayat's day at the end, with him amassing 80 off just 55 balls (with 10 fours and 3 sixes).

6 months and there is still nothing to separate the two-best teams this entire season. We have a tied third-final between The Avengers and Bad Boys at The Floating Marvel.
Mohsin 7287 bowled the perfect final over up until the last two deliveries - which saw Umair Nazim smash him for a four and a six to bring Bad Boys back from the dead.

Code:
0.1 Shah to Nazim, FOUR, Brillian cover drive by Umair Nazim

zBH5H94.png

Uppish cover-drive from Umair Nazim gets Bad Boys four invaluable runs on the first ball of the Super Over - pressure on Nilay Shah to make a comeback after the first ball.

- x -

BAD BOYS 4/0 (0.1)

- x -

Code:
0.2 Shah to Nazim, FOUR, That was a bad delivery by Nilay Shah, deserving this punishment

aLSH8QN.png

Four! Nilay Shah tried to go outside off-stump but it was too wide... Umair Nazim lashed onto it and smashed it over point - the ball was too quick for the fielder to react.

BAD BOYS 8/0 (0.2)

Code:
0.3 Shah to Nazim, one run, That was a very risky single.

iucmfGI.png

Yorker outside off-stump by Nilay Shah... he misses but they run! Risky single but the silver lining is - Umair Nazim is off strike. Sneaky run, but ultimately a valuable one.

BAD BOYS 9/0 (0.3)

Code:
0.4 Shah to Modi, two runs, Took the first one quickly the second was no problem

GNAKInB.png

Hit to deep mid-wicket... the fielder's going to have to cleanup - Umair Nazim and Lalit Modi complete the second-run right before the throw was collected by Talha Hayat.

Low full-toss... and Lalit Modi's nailed it! Is it a six? The replay shows the ball land inches before the boundary - Bad Boys would've loved a six at this point - but a four it is.

Some redemption for Nilay Shah. Lalit Modi is caught at the boundary by Dylan Smith. A wicket on the last ball, but more importantly, it's a dot ball to close-out the innings.

That was a rough Super Over by Nilay Shah - but a fatigued bowler bowling to two of the most in-form batsmen in the opposition's lineup was never going to be an easy ask.
15 runs were scored by Umair Nazim and Lalit Modi - The Avengers' batsmen are going to have to bat incredibly well under insurmountable pressure to win this game now.

THE AVENGERS NEED 16 RUNS TO WIN SUPER OVER

How has that not taken the off-stump with it? That ball deceived Talha Hayat completely - if that's how Fadhl Rukanah is going to bowl... this game might already be over.

Dial it back... dial it back! Talha Hayat, you monster! A slightly over-pitched delivery by Fadhl Rukanah and Talha Hayat has whacked it on the leg-side for a massive six.

Oh dear... that's down the leg-side! That's pressure mounting on Fadhl Rukanah's shoulders. One big shot, and all of a sudden, Fadhl Rukanah is the one under pressure.

Goes for another big shot... but he's missed it! Fadhl Rukanah holds his nerves, somehow... he holds 'em. Now then... one more dot and the momentum will shift, again...

Code:
0.5 Rukanah to Hayat, one run, Great cooperation between Talha Hayat and Sod Anderson

Brilliant yorker by Fadhl Rukanah... he has to dig that to keep his stumps intact. Hayat and Anderson run a single, but that's brought the latter on strike for the final ball.
4 needed off the last delivery. It's all come down to the final ball, once again - Fadhl Rukanah is going to bowl to Sod Anderson, who's facing his first ball of the Super Over.

He's hit.. he's hit it for a four! Sod Anderson has captured The Kumar Vishal Trophy in a do-or-die moment - all he had was one chance, and he's availed it sensationally!
Absolute heartbreak for Fadhl Rukanah and Bad Boys - they lose on the final delivery of the Super Over, in the third final... it couldn't be a tougher pill for them to swallow.

Agonizing defeat for Bad Boys - a bitter way to close the season. A season where both - the leading-wicket-taker and the leading run-scorer of the series belonged to them.
Lalit Modi - the recipient of the Golden Bat scored 420 runs @ 46.67. Dikshansh Darshan was the second highest run-scorer with 416 runs to his name - @ 83.20 no less.

Franklin Jacob - the leading wicket-taker and the Golden Ball winner is also adjudged as the player of the tournament for picking-up 20 wickets @ an average of 21.00.
Nilay Shah of The Avengers is the second-highest wicket-taker with 18 scalps to his name (@ 26.11). Both men claimed two 4-wicket hauls - the joint-most among everyone.

Interviewer: I've got Sod Anderson (@PresidentEvil ) alongside me..... Sod how is the feeling?

Sod Anderson: Well it's a great feeling to be winning the Kumar Vishal Trophy in my first season with The Avengers. We have played some really good Cricket over the last few months so this was a result of our hardwork.

Interviewer: Does this feel anything different from winning the limited overs tournament with The Amigos in the first season?

Sod Anderson: Well I won't say it's
anything different. But Amigos seemed just special considering it was the first season of TPCL and to be inaugral Champions is always special. But to take nothing away from The Avengers, I thoroughly enjoyed working with this guys, training hard with them and creating a good atmosphere inside the dressing room.

Interviewer: Tell us something about your last season of One Day format with Xtreme Rebelz in TPCL

Sod Anderson: The Rebelz started off as defending Champions in the last season and we had a lot of hopes with our side but unfortunately things didn't go well for us and eventually we crashed out pretty early than what we expected. And it happens at times since the rest of the sides in the TPCL are equally competitive. So few teams win while few losses. It's all part and parcel of the game

Interviewer: Would you mind saying a word or two for your team mates?

Sod Anderson: I think these are a great bunch of guys around who are always looking to win and this is what helped us throughout the tournament. Just proud of my team. Boys played well!

Interviewer: Thank you Sod, enjoy the celebration!!

Sod Anderson: Cheers!!! :cheers

Interviewer: Asad Raza (@AsadRM ) alongside me. So Avengers have claimed their supremacy over the Universe, Asad?

Asad Raza: No no! Not just Universe, but the multiverse! :lol

Interviewer: Ok so we go by that. :p A great day for you guys Asad. I won't say at a personal level but from the team's perspective.

Asad Raza: Misbah supremacy doesn't care about personal milestones, for me my team comes first! So nothing feels better than winning this tournament.

Interviewer: You've been truly a great contributor to this team. How do you manage to be so different from the rest of the team and be the most aggressive batsman in the side?

Asad Raza: Well we've got a lot of aggressive batsman in our side but all of them are accumulators, be it Sod Anderson, Ahmed Leo or Talha Hayat for that role. We discussed it amongst ourselves whether who should be the aggressor, and I just took it upon myself to see my team through.

Interviewer: What was going through your mind when the match went to the Super Over and you were selected as the 3rd batsman? Disappointed not being onto the ground?

Asad Raza: It was a team decision to have me at the back end since I wasn't having a great game and with only 6 balls to play for it made more of sense to send the in-form batsman. And we just did!

Interviewer: Tell us something about your Captain and the vice-Captain

Asad Raza: Both Neptune and Nilay have been spot on with most of their decisions and it has worked pretty well to be honest. And it is good to see both of them working together and having a good understanding between them. And this is a great sign for any team. A good leadership group can lead to successful sides and this is what we have done.

Interviewer: Have a great time Asad!

Asad Raza: Thanks mate. Also, never forget the Misbah Supremacy! #MisbahForever

Interviewer: So we've got The Avengers all-rounder X Æ A-12 Musk alongside us. So Mr. Musk how much did you enjoy the moment from the sidelines?

X Æ A-12 Musk: Yeah very much but would've been pleased to be the part of this side in the Final.

Interviewer: How tough it was to be left out after you lost the first Final?

X Æ A-12 Musk: Being left out is the toughest thing one can imagine but I had myself to blame since I didn't do enough neither with the bat nor with the ball so I just saw it coming.

Interviewer: If you were batting a little up the order would it have made the difference?

X Æ A-12 Musk: No, I don't really think so since our top order seemed really strong and had been taking us through on most of the occasions. So it wouldn't have made any difference.

Interviewer: What major difference did the side see after losing that first Final by 130 runs and then winning back to back matches to claim the title?

X Æ A-12 Musk: I think that defeat in the first Final was a wake-up call for us and certainly helped us take some important decisions regarding the balance in our side. Also, we were pretty much confident that we can bounce back from the loss which also brought about a lot of positivity to us as a side.

Interviewer: Thank you Mr.Musk, hope you enjoy the celebration.

X Æ A-12 Musk: Yeah sure!

Interviewer: So finally we have him alongside us, it's The Avengers vice-Captain alongside us. First of all Congratulations Nilay

Nilay Shah: Thank you very much. Happy to be on the winning side of 102 overs of exhausting Cricket. I think the fans would've gone crazy since nobody knew until the last ball was bowled where the match was heading.

Interviewer: You must be finally relieved after winning this title.

Nilay Shah: Yes definitely, I wasn't looking at the result at all. We just looked at following a process where everyone in the Avengers camp gave out their best. We did not have anything to prove to anyone since we just wanted to enjoy to say the very least.

Interviewer: You were saying that you didn't wanted to bowl the Super Over, why is that so? Were you having some injury or something?

Nilay Shah: No nothing like that. The idea was to cut down on the runs and since Mohsin had bowled brilliantly on the first 4 deliveries in the last over, I felt he had better chance of restricting the Bad Boys. I am thankful to the management for motivating me to bowl that over.

Interviewer: With a run needed on the last delivery and with Anderson on strike, what was the atmosphere in the dug out?

Nilay Shah: We were under enormous pressure but we were confident that Sod would take us through as he did for the most part of the tournament before we reached the Finals. He is a big match player and he delivered when it was required the most.

Interviewer: Why do you think you struggled with the ball today?

Nilay Shah: I felt the pitch was a little on the slow side in this match and this is the reason why even Bad Boys pacers found it tough to keep the runs down. Neptune on the other hand was turning the ball square and was consistently beating the edge of the bat. So probably spinners had more of chance.

Interviewer: So do you think not bowling Brookes was a mistake?

Nilay Shah: I couldn't conclude on that since even Naman A7 went for runs. We just wanted 5 bowlers for this match. Brookes kept it tight in earlier matches but he did lack that wicket taking intent in his bowling and I felt Kiran bowled better in the 2nd Final. Hence, I don't think not bowling Brookes was a wrong decision either.

Interviewer: Congratulations Nilay once again!

Nilay Shah: Thank you.

POST MATCH PRESENTATION

14hussain1.jpg

Nasser Hussain: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Post match Presentation of the Kumar Vishal Trophy.
First of all I would like to thank the organizers for conducting such a wonderful tournament.
Then I would like to Thank @Na Maloom Afraad for his consistent efforts in bringing the best of matches by hosting them and taking his best of efforts to Present to us the matches in a way that not only every member who participated in TPCL had a close look to it but even the ones who did not participate enjoyed going through those nail-biters.
Special mentions to @Gaurav_7 & @RUDI without whom the TPCL couldn't have taken place.

The Kumar Vishal trophy is actually named after a participant @Vishal687 who just left us way too soon! So I would give my heartfelt condolences to the members who were close to Vishal and more importantly his family who had to go through such a tragedy of an irreparable loss. May Vishal's soul rest in peace. I appreciate the TPCL Management for giving such an honour to Kumar Vishal. I am sure he would look back at this tournament from the heavens and have a smile on his face.

Now I would like to call Lalit Modi (@Gaurav_7 ) to collect the golden bat.

0520-Junaid-Khan.jpg
Franklin Jacob took 20 wickets at an extremely good average of 21.00 in 9 matches. He had a couple of 4 wicket-hauls to his name

Now I would like to call the losing Captain to have a word.

Ladies & Gentlemen, here is Umair Nazim (@Umair7 )

Tough luck Umair!

Umair Nazim: Yeah definitely a tough luck. One of those days where we did everything just perfectly and still end up on the losing side.

Nasser Hussain: What can you say about the last ball of the Super Over?

Umair Nazim: Look it wasn't just about the Super Over. There were so many small parts of the match where we could've done better. Congratulations Avengers on a successful campaign. It's been a challenging season, the pitches here have been a little different than what we had expected. All that talk about chasing targets seems to have changed.

Nasser Hussain: Bad Boys were up for an incredible fightback with more than 100 runs required in the last 10 overs, and to take it into the Super Over and nearly winning the contest was just incredible!

Umair Nazim: Yeah! Our team have shown every time how bad we are for our opposition. I would like to thank them for the fight that they had shown when the odds were heavily stacked against us and get us this far.

Nasser Hussain: Has the team already gone through the emotion of losing this one?

Umair Nazim: A tie in the final. So many parts to it, the players are just shattered. It's just devastating! They've performed at such high level of intensity throughout the tournament. But we would be through this in some days. The Bad Boys are just bad as hell for their oppostion. I would just say one thing, we are Bad Boys for life!!!!

Nasser Hussain: Thank you Umair for your time! Commiserations to your side. You've played some great brand of Cricket. Now, I would like to call the Man of the match!!!! Ladies & Gentlemen, Talha Hayat! (@CerealKiller receives 2 Million vCash)

So Talha you had said earlier in the tournament that this was the season for you guys to win something and you are here after winning the Kumar Vishal Trophy

Talha Hayat: Yes!!! Finally we have won!!! I feel so relieved after winning it for my team.

Nasser Hussain: Tell us something about how did you approach your innings earlier in the day.

Talha Hayat: After the start we got, I felt if I can stay till the end then I can take the team to a very good total and that is what happened. I must say that the surface did not change at all throughout the game unlike the other games at The Floating Marvel. So we were still short by 10-15 runs.

Nasser Hussain: How are you feeling now?

Talha Hayat: I am lost for words now. All that hardwork that we put in building this team since the last season and in the tournament this season have come off exactly the way we would've liked.

Nasser Hussain: What has changed from the last season for you guys?

Talha Hayat: I would just want to credit Neptune and Nilay for their fantastic leadership in this tournament. Secondly, kudos to every single guy in the squad. We always played as a team, everyone played their roles perfectly, which allowed us to bounce back from bad positions very often, and we found success because everyone wanted to perform for the team first.

Nasser Hussain: What is the plan now?

Talha Hayat: Asad promised us a nimbu paani party so we would start with that first. :lol
We are looking forward to the couple of Finals that we are going to play in the next few of weeks

Nasser Hussain: Thank you Talha. Now I would like to call the player of the tournament Franklin Jacob! (@Fenil receives 5 Million vCash)

junaid-khan.jpg
Tough luck Jacob, you were the best player amongst all sides in the Kumar Vishal Trophy and were simply incredible.

Franklin Jacob: Not the greatest of days for us but I feel we just did well in this tournament and I couldn't ask for anything better than the way we performed. Unfortunately, I couldn't perform well today and would accept that I could've done a lot better. But whatever it is, we just accept this result and keep moving forward.

Nasser Hussain: What helped you at the individual level as long as the bowling was concerned?

Franklin Jacob: The best thing about our side is that we are at the opposition throughout the contest. And it just helps get the better of them and makes us most dangerous side in this tournament. I just kept up with the team culture and it was eventually visible in the way I bowled and performed all throughout.

Nasser Hussain: At any point in the tournament were you under pressure?

Franklin Jacob: Not at all, we as side were very calm and there was no pressure on us! Teams generally fear us when they are playing against us. And we nearly beat The Avengers had it not been for the last ball. But taking nothing away, The Avengers are deserving winners while we are just happy for the way we performed.

Nasser Hussain: Now, I would like to call The Avengers skipper Neptune Gaming (@Neptune )

Well just look at that smile. The smile of a relieved Captain who just won the tournament.

Neptune Gaming: Yeah, the feeling is just great. I can't believe what I've seen today!!!

Nasser Hussain: How does it feel winning your first tournament as Captain?

Neptune Gaming: It just feels great but I don't deserve all the credit, my team has equally contributed to this victory and I am just proud of them!

Nasser Hussain: If you had to pick one good player from your team who would it be?

Neptune Gaming: A tough choice, but I will pick Talha Hayat. Not just the runs he scored but the pressure he used to soak was just immense!

Nasser Hussain: Just a word about your deputy Nilay Shah, why is he so highly rated.

Neptune Gaming: Nilay Shah is the best Vice-Captain one can ask for really, made my and everyone in the Avengers' leadership groups job so much easier.

Nasser Hussain: A final word from your side then you can collect the trophy.

Neptune Gaming: The Avengers are up for all challenges and they would always give their best at every stage. Commiserations to my opposite number Umair, the Bad Boys team and their fans. Avengers will be back!!! Avengers Assemble!!!!!!!!!!!

Nasser Hussain: Ladies and gentlemen, this is Nasser Hussain signing off with the post match presentation, but before that Kumar Vishal Trophy Champions- The Avengers!!!!

What a match!!!!! Only if I scored some runs on that last ball and did not get out! Dammit!

Congrats to The Avengers for coming on top but our team has every reason to be proud of themselves for fighting till the very end. Talha Hayat simply is a legend no doubt. He has always been a pain in the backside for us but an amazing player and a deserved winner.

I would have loved the KVT more than that golden bat and am sure Fenil too would feel the same. He has been fantastic for us throughout the season. Umair chose the most perfect day to score but unfortunately we could not cross the line.
