Who would be your next England Manager?

Bassett for England!

God forbid if England are ever losing 2-0 at half time to the Mexicans though...

I just realised how much Bradley Walsh looks like Psycho Pearce in that pic, coincidence I think not! Omen? God I hope not!

If things keep going like they are, it wont be long until Admiral really are Engand's kit sponsor!

Just to put my point accross. I am delighted that England didn't qualify for the Euro Finals. Not only does it give me ammunition to rip into my house mate who has final tickets, but it'll be a good kick up the back side. I hate International football, until I see sides like Scotland and Northern Ireland giving their all. The England squad are a bunch of spineless mugs and need to get a grip!

I have to agree, maybe a little pay cut will motivate them? They're just not hungry enough, they're too damn rich! Or as someone else said, have England pay some of their wages. Maybe make their England wages performance based? I mean there was no fight, no urgency, nothing! Maybe Israel didn't do us a favour after all, if we'd needed a win from the off, the team might've at least shown some damn passion, urgency and bloody pride in wearing the Three Lions!

As for the new man, if Capello wants it, we should snap his hand off!

Enlgand's problem for me resolves around their club rather then national commitments, the way that Croatia played in the game at Wembley was a clear cut sign of a team that wants to play for pride and not "money".

On a coaching point of view for England, McClaren was a bit useless okay he was useless! The draw against Macedonia did the damage but let's turn our cheeks and take the blow that England didn't qualify...we can't change history. Scolari for me I won't think might take the job his in too much of a comfort zone at Portugal, but I would think Mourinho who would love to coach Portugal is hoping that the Brazilian will take the English job and leaving him open for the Portuguese position but would like to see Jose in as English manager, O'Neill pulled out and Steve Capello sounds like a good person to take the job, but going back to the Mourinho factor with all this media pressure going on English managers do you think that Jose would cope with it? Cause I think on few times Mr. Mourinho did make some horrendous acts with Chelsea....but then again who am I to give lip ????

But coming to my conclusion I think Franz Beckenbauer hit the nail on the head by mentioning ex German coach Jurgen Klinsmann, Klinsmann I believe is the man for the English position, he managed a mediocre German team to third place in World Cup before that Germany was hanging on at 16th in the World now even though Joachim Loew has really turned Germany into world beaters you can't deny the fact that Klinsmann created the foundation...Klinsmann can do this for England, yeah Capello and Ancelotti are awesome coaches but geez c'mon guys be reasonable here with me Italy, Real Madrid, AC Milan with players like that in your squad how easy is your job? not having anything against the English players they are pretty good no doubt but I hope that Klinsmann gets the job that is if he wants it and also if The United States won't offer him a better job

Another problem is that most of the good nations have their players spread across Europe, playing in different competitions under different conditions, whereas all of our players, bar Beckham play in England. Without the experience of playing in other countries, where the style of play is different, how are the English supposed to adapt to playing a foreign side. Also, it's not a problem with the players, we have a world class squad, but a mediocre team, a good manager, like Jose or Capello would soon sort that out.

England needs to get more players abroad but I don't think that would change anything except for Michael Ballack Germany I think had only two foreign based club players in Lehman and Metzelder but I do think the FA should cut teams on having too many foreign players this is for me sending way too many young English lads away from the game who with some help could become decent players, but then again you guys would say what about being the best club in the world? Let's face it a Premiership side can't win you the World Cup

Forget getting English players abroad, its the Domestic league that needs sorting out if we want the National side to progress.

The Premier League is the richest league in the world and rated second in the UEFA league rankings (Behind La Liga). But the fact it is the richest is, I think, its biggest problem. It all started to go wrong when Blackburn bought their way to the title back in 94/95, but its got much worse now. Its not just the top clubs that have to buy their way to success, virtually all the clubs have to spend obscene amounts of money each season just to stay somewhere near competitive. So we have a rich league and a host of teams willing to spend big money to get to the sharp end of it, the problem is lower league teams know this and they charge stupid amounts of money when a premier league comes knocking, result, players are bought from abroad. Look at current league leaders Arsenal, yesterday they fielded a squad with just 1 English player in it, Walcott, and sadly thats not rare across most clubs now.

So what can be done?

An introduction of a cap on foreign players is a must. Something like the system for player registration in the champions league would be a start (Next year the limit will be 8 must be Home grown, 4 of which must have come from the clubs own academy). All the Premier league clubs have academies that they spend vast amounts of money on and this would go some way to making sure they make good use of the players coming from them. BUT attitudes of football fans and the media would need to change for this to work. Currently everyone wants instant success from their clubs. Managers are losing their jobs after just a handful of games in charge. How can you build a team if you aren't given any time? No wonder managers buy "instant foreign talent" over home grown youth under these pressures.

If rumours are to be believed then Schuster could become the next England coach with Jose Mourinho taking over at the Bernebau.

John Terry and Didier best get their Spanish CD's from tesco then. courae fat Franks already got his!

Mourinho has said to the FA that they should come and get him. I think he would take the manager job if the FA offered him the right amount.

Also yeh that Redknapp story is a bit concerning. Not much detail about what the actual fraud stuff is about. I'm sure it will be revealed in the next few days though...
