Adelaide start their pre-season training

The Adelaide Crows have started their pre Season training this afternoon at Aami Stadium. The Crows coming off a good 2006 season, come back to Aami Stadium, feeling better and fitter then before. They looked good with their 1st Training drill in about 3 months.
It was a nice day for the Crows to come out onto the track, there was a reasonable crowd that came into Aami Stadium to watch the Crows train. Camera's around everywhere. Footy season is back, and we are only into the start of Feburary.

Let's just have a look at some players that trained well this afternoon for the Crows.

Nathan VanBerlo: He was the standout for the Crows. Winning the 3k time trival just under 5 minutes with the 3k. He led from the start, and maintained his lead throughout the whole race. He couldn't be stopped. The 19 year old, is looking to become a perminant member of the Crows midfield this season, probably with the limits of Ricciuto playing Forward, Van Berlo might just get that chance. Will have to prove himself over the summer though.

Andrew McLeod: The Veteran keeps impressing. He looked fluient, and still got the speed he had many years ago. He just glided along the Aami Stadium turf this afternoon and he was quicker then any other player there. I would hate to see him in his quick mode, it would be a nightmare for other teams. The defender is looking forward to having a good season from the Half Back line.

Scott Welsh: The Full Forward looked good out their today. He isn't as tall as normal Full Fowards, but he is just as good. Kicked well this afternoon, and took alot of strong marks against Full Back Ben Rutten. One of the quickest players in the Crows team, he was good on the lead, and is looking in good shape. Hopefully a non-injury season for Welsh coming up and might kick around 50-60 goals this season.

Adelaide win Showdown

The Adelaide Crows have beten Port Adelaide in the NAB Cup Opener at Aami Stadium by 48 points.
The Crows led by Centre Half Forward, Ken McGreogr who booted 4 goals for the winners, was leading all match to take away the vicory.
Ken McGregor kicked 4 goals for the Crows, and after his career was in disaray with the Crows, he has come out tonight and booted 4 goals in a match winning performance. McGregor also had 23 possesions and took 12 very good contested marks for his 4 goals aswell. It was a good night for the big man.

The Port Adelaide power just couldn't find a goal kicker. No one on their team could manage more then 1 goal tonight. Having just singles through, Full Back Wakelin, Cornes, Ebert Lade and Tredrea. It was a miserable night for the Power forwards, and they need to get their act together throughout now and too the season to try and bring a match winning score. Because 5 goals in a match won't get you anywhere. The Power did kick 14 behinds for the match, so something was good out of it, they had alot of shots on goal, but they couldn't captalize on the big sticks.

Brad Symes, the half back flanker from the Power was dominate on the ground. Picking up a whopping 40 possesions in a NAB Cup match is outstanding for the young kid. He has been good all over the summer. Has been training the house down at Alberton, and now being rewarded in getting a game, the 23 year old is starting to show his talents. Symes had 19 kicks, 21 handballs, 40 possesions and took 13 marks. That is ooutstanding considering he stands at only 180+ centremeters. He tried hard for his team, but none of his team mates were there to follow in his steps.

Nicely set out. You really gave them a thumping, though why would 35 thousand people go to a pre-season friendly?

Predicta Contest

Who will be the leading goal kicker for the Crows in 2007?

Reps will be rewarded for the right answer.

Ken McGregor
Mark Ricciuto
Scott Welsh
Matthew Bode
Scott Stevens
Ian Perrie

Scott Welsh for me.

You playing this on Footy Fanatic? Originally I didn't think so but when I saw that first match, it looked pretty much like Footy Fanatic with the best for each team, etc.

Keep up the good work.
