Have they missed their flag chance? (By Andrew Chapel)

Possibly, but this team might have one more run in it. Coach Neil Craig has started the process of blooding young players to rebuild for the future - hence the delisting of Ben Hart and Matthew Clarke - but it's hard to see the Crows winning a flag for years once their ageing supserstars Mark Ricciuto, Andrew McLeod, Simon Goodwin, and Tyson Edwards have gone. They have to make the most of this year. With nine players in their 29th year or older, its now or never.

Where will Roo play?

If he is fit, Ricciuto will spend more time in the midfield than last year, when he was used primarily as a foward, kicking 44 goals in 17 games. But Craig is not about to take Ricciuto away from goal completely.

Should Graham Johncock play in the midfield?

The time is right to throw some speed machine into the midfield mix - provided he has improved his fitness in the off - season. A contender for an All Australian defensive berth last year, Johncock covets an onball role and the Crows can no longer ingnore his strength, class and runnins power. Teammate Andrew McLeod says Johncock has potential to be the club's greatest player.

NAB Rising Star - One to Watch

Richard Douglas

Light but quick, skilful and clever midfielder who showed maturity beyond his years in three games last season, including the qualifying final.

The Geelong Cats are the 2007 NAB Cup winners after beating the Collingwood Magpies at Telstra Dome in front of a massive crowd. The Cats have won their 1st NAB Cup compettion since 40 years ago. So Congradulations to them and Mark Thompson on the win

The Cats after some dreadful kicking in the close roofed Telstra Dome, got over the line by 19 points against a talented Collingwood outfit that looked good throughout the whole NAB Cup Compettion.

Now the players will have a weeks break before getting into the real stuff, and Round 1 kicks off. The NAB Cup is over, and now the real stuff is about to begin, 2007 is here......

Some of the key match ups were are looking foward to tonight will be Ken McGregor, the Crows key marking foward, will take the best Essendon defender in Dustin Fletcher.
In the Midfield, Crows tagger Robert Shirley will be tagging Essendon great, James Hird, which will be a intreging match up.
Jobe Watson is playing at Half Foward, but is doing a offensive tagging job on Crows running half back Andrew McLeod.
And Crows full Back, All Australia in 2005 Ben Rutten will be playing on Matthew Llyod back from injury in 2006.

Crows shoot down Bombers

The Adelaide Crows have beaten the Essendon Bombers at Aami Stadium in the Round 1 clash. After a dissapoiting NAB Cup compettion, the Crows came out with a whole different looking team, and won.
The 1st Qaurter saw the Crows get away from the Bombers. They started fast and long. They kicked long into the foward 50, with talls, Welsh, Bock and McGregor, they had many options to look for. If they we're accurate the Crows could of blitzed the Bombers from the 1st quarter, but the Crows kicked 3.5 in the 1st to enjoy a 11 point lead at Quarter time.

The 2nd Quarter again saw the Crows on top of the Bombers. They kicked 3.4 to the Bombers 1.2 in the 2nd, and again same story as the 1st Quarter, if the Crows had kicked straight, the Bombers would be chasing a 5-6 goal lead after half time, but the Crows with their misses, gave the Bombers every chance in coming back into this match.
Crows tagger Robert Shirley who has played on James Hird in the 1st half, has had 15 disposals up to half time and is looking good on the Veteran from Windy Hill.

The 3rd quarter saw a high scoring affair. The Crows kicked away with 4.1 to the Bombers who kicked 5.3 in an entertaining contest in the 3rd. You could tell that the Bombers were going to come back in this match, and this is what they did with that 5 goal 3rd term. Star Full Foward Matthew Llyod came off the ground injured after a marking contest with Ben Rutten which saw the Foward coming off the ground limping. The Crows lead by 27 points going into the last quarter and with Llyod off the ground, seems hard for the Bombers to come back.

The last quarter was again a high scoring term, with both teams kicking 3 goals each, and saw the Crows run away with the win. The Crows kicking 13. 11. 89 to the Bombers 11.5.71 in front of a dissapointing crowd at Aami Stadium.
The Crows high flier Brett Burton was the highest goal kicker for the Crows kicking 3 goals, while Edwards, Goodwin and Perrie kicked 2 each, and its good to see the midfielders kicking goals for the Crows. While for the Bombers, Scott Lucas was a alone hand down foward, booting 5 goals, while Jason Johnson kicked 3 himself.

Really really poor crowds for the first 2 matches. And you beat us. :(

Yeah true, but as you saw in the Weather, it was Raining and cold for both them games, so you cant blame the crowd for not coming.

Well there is a healthy crowd into Aami Stadium for the contest between Adelaide and Port Adelaide. Only 7 degrees down here at Ground Level, so very cold for the night, but the players won't be complaining. There is a light wind favouring the Port Adelaide Power in this 1st Quarter, but it is very light, and shouldnt affect the scoreboard for any team, and we doubt it will get any stronger. Like we said a healthy crowd, we are expecting around 40 thousand to turn up tonight on this wintry night, and hopefully a good game of football along the way

screenshot1xf1.jpg

Well the Adelaide Crows have come out with their 3rd win of the season after defeating the Power by 28 points at Aami Stadium on a very cold and Wintry night. The Crows led by Trent Hentschel and Andrew McLeod with 3 goals each, dismissed of Arch town Rivals, to put them in the top 4 brackit without a loss after 3 rounds.
Like we said, Trent Hentschel and Andrew McLeod slotted home 3 goals each for the Crows, while the rest were singles, Reilly, Johncock, Thompson, Perrie, Ricciuto, McGregor and Welsh all finished with singles.
And for the Power, Chad Cornes kicked 3, while Captain Warren Tredrea booted 2, and singles to, Wilson, Lonie, Motlop and Brendon Lade.
The Crows kicked of the night wiht a 5 goals to 2 1st quarter, and then in the 3rd kicking another 5 goals to the Power's 1 goal, which gave them that night 4-5 goal lead at the end of the match.

Graham JOhncock again has continued his stellar start to the 2007 season with another 34 disposal match, and was dominate through the half back line and the centre of the ground. Johncock took 7 marks and also featured himself going Foward and slotting home a goal from 50 in his Best on Ground Performance.
Simon Goodwin and Andrew McLeod, the old firms, had good matches respectivly, with Goodwin picking up 23 possesions through the midfield, while McLeod played more up Foward and picked up 22 possesions, while kicking 3 goals for the Crows.
Big man, and defender Scott Stevens finished the game with 21 possesions, and took a season high 9 marks for the Crows, and was good in defence on Warren Tredrea.
Ben Hudson was dominat in the Ruck once again gathering 39 Hitouts for the match, and would be defiently leading the compettion in Hitouts, having nearly 90 Hitouts already in the 3 games he has played this season, having 47 last week and 39 this week , but with only 9 in the 1st round.
