Rahul Dravid believes India can win the ODI series
against England and the T20 World Championship

of winning the ODI series versus England and then going on to take the
inaugural Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa.

Rahul Dravid believes his side can beat the best at the Twenty20 World Championships in South Africa

Dravid told the press in a news conference ahead of their tie with Scotland
tomorrow that India were in great touch and felt that they could beat anyone
in September's Twenty20 World Championship.

"We are looking great. If we play to our best I believe we can win this One Day
series, and then go on to win the Twenty20 World Championship. Both our
batting and bowling has come on leaps and bounds, and with a few new
youngsters coming to the field we are heading in the right direction."

Rahul Dravid is expected to be left out of the Twenty20 World Championships
along with other greats such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and Sourav
Ganguly to make way for India's youngsters. The teams will be announced
during the 20th and 23rd of this month.

India have the talent to do so but it will be tricky winning the Twenty20 World Cup.

Fantastic updates Treva. I don't know why you get so many less replies in this story

India could win it without their stars but maybe they should be kept them in just incase something bad happens. As the phrase goes "nothing beats experience!"... Ok I made that up but you get my point.:p

I have read everyone of your updates and I am well impressed by the amount of work you put in to each one. If any awards come your way, you deserve them. Well done mate, keep it up!:)

Predicting the future can be disastrous as you set yourself big goals but they have the talent to win them. We'll see...

Awesome work as ever, Jack. Always love your stories. :)

India given scare by Scotland

ONLY ODI, Glasgow
India 208/3 beat Scotland 205 by 7 wickets

The final result did not reflect the match in anyway as India scrapped home
with 3 balls to spare in a one off ODI at Glasgow. Scotland managed to make
205 largely thanks to a 56 from Gavin Hamilton and a 41 from Colin Smith, in a
partnership of 75 for the 6th wicket. India lost just the 3 wickets but were
tied down by Scotland's bowlers, Rahul Dravid eventually getting the 6 runs
required off the first 3 balls of the last over. Gautam Gambhir hit 71 and Dravid
50 not out to secure a tight victory for India.

Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first on a good wicket for both the
bowlers and the batsmen. Ajit Agarkar was the man to rip through Scotland,
taking career best figures of 7 for 46 from his 10 overs. Five of Scotland's
batsmen went past 10 but only Hamilton and Smith, the two veterans of the
team, could post a decent score.

India needed 206 to win, Gambhir and Uthappa putting on 39 runs together
before Majid Haq dismissed Uthappa for 20. Gambhir was then dismissed for
71 off 105 balls by Haq, and when Watson got rid of Dinesh Karthik Scotland
looked in with a good chance. A unusually steady knock by Yuvraj Singh and
equally unusual 50 from 56 for Dravid got India across the line.

India now face the England Lions at Northampton before a much sterner
challenge of a 7 ODI series versus England.

Comprehenve victory... Not! :D

Scotland were so close to victory, or at least a draw. There's a pitch in Glasgow? :D

Very nice presentation, good tight results and some quality writing. Win for the readers.

I use cricsim for matches like this and the U19's. I did use ICC 2002 with updated squads for the county games and I use Cricket 04 for my games. I will probably use Cricket 04 for the T20 WC as well.

Pakistani bowlers on top again

FIRST YOUTH ODI, Shenley
Pakistan U19s 164/7 beat England U19s 163 by 3 wickets

Pakistan U19's defeated England U19's by 3 wickets in the first of five One Day
Internationals. England were bowled out for just 163 thanks to superb figures
of 4 for 29 from Mohammad Aamer and 3 for 41 from Azhar Attari. Adam Lyth
made a respectable 43 for England but the top order faltered, England were 3
down for just 14. In reply Pakistan's opener Shan Masood hit 41, and with
contributions right down the order, they made it home with 3 wickets to spare.
Liam Dawson was the most impressive England bowler taking 4 for 39.
