Geoffrey Boycott: Well that fantastic partnership comes to an end as Akmal is dismissed for 58 after 3 balls of big hits! Akmal hit 50 off the same amount of balls and hit 2 boundaries in the next 2 balls. He then tried to cut one close to his body and drilled out to Deep Square Leg for an easy catch.

Slats what do you think of that knock?

Michael Slater: Fantastic innings played by the Wicket keeper batsman! Played steadily and then started to go when Asif came in and has given Pakistan a real chance in this game.

1st Innings Chat with Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Slater and Simon Hughes!!!

Geoffrey Boycott: Well that first innings of the World Cup 2007 here in the Caribbean has been full of excitement from early wickets to good late hitting. Michael Slater and Simon Hughes are here with me, Slats do you think Pakistan have a defend-able score with only 233?

Michael Slater: certainly, I heard one young fellow say anything over 200 is possible and he is right. Pakistan can win this game and thats what Inzamam-Ul-Haq and Bob Woolmer will be telling them in that dressing room right now.

Geoffrey Boycott: And Simon how do you think the West Indies will look to bat?

Simon Hughes: I think they will be cacious to start with and make sure they do not, follow Pakistan, and lose early wickets. They will look to need at most 50 in the last 15 overs.

Geoffrey Boycott: Well lets take a look at some of the performances in the first innings starting off with Wicket Keeper batsman Kamran Amkal. A great knock from the young man as we can see here from the Spider diagram...

As we can see from his Spider he scores a lot behind square on both sides.

Michael Slater: Yes he does like to cut and leg glance the ball and the key is not to give him width. Overall a very solid performance from Akmal and if his side win today, He will certainly have a lot to do with it!

Geoffrey Boycott: Now lets take a look at some bowling figures from the West Indies...

Butler was the pick of the bowlers there Simon...

Simon Hughes: Yes he certainly bowled aggressively and took it to the batsman early on. He got two crucial wickets of Mohammad Yousuf and Kamran Akmal and stopped Akhtar having a balst in the last few overs.

Geoffrey Boycott: Ok we shall be back after the break taking a look at some of the 1st Innings stats.

Hah, loving the 1st Innings Chat. Great work on the presentation, dude. :clap

Some very good lower-order batting by Razzaq, Akmal and Asif. Now our pacemen need to charge in and get some early wickets to put the pressure on the Windies.

I reckon 233 could be enough for Pakistan as long as they take a couple of early wickets. Otherwise the West Indies have the batting capablities to get over the line if they get off to a good start.

1st Innings Chat with Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Slater and Simon Hughes!!!

Geoffrey Boycott: Welcome back to the 1st Innings chat with me, Geoffrey Boycott, Michael Slater and Simon Hughes.

Now lets take a look at the Pakistan worm of their innings...

Slats they went at a steady rate all the way through and hit out at the end but do you think they could have done better?

Michael Slater: They could of if they hadn't lost important wickets early but after the start they had they couldn't do much better than that.

Geoffrey Boycott: Ok then lets take a look at the manhattan skyline graph of Pakistan's innings...

Some big overs there but mainly lost too many wickets at frequent rates.

Simon Hughes: Yes a decent scoring rate with only 2 maidens but generally like you said to many wickets and frequent intervals cost them from getting a bigger total!

Geoffrey Boycott: Ok thankyou guys for the chat there and you will join us again after the match with the 2nd Innings chat and then the match presentation.

Bye for now!!!

Geoffrey Boycott: A very big wicket that as Chris Gayle has been dissmissed for just 5 as he is caught in the deep by Shoaib Akhtar. Mohammad Asif bowled a fullish ball and Gayle had a slog across the line it went flying down to fine leg where Akhtar took a stunner.

Michael Slater: Great bowling and not so good batting, The West Indies could be in for a bit of rapid bowling from the seamers now they have the first wicket!

Just as I had hoped; an early breakthrough for Pakistan! Now let's pile the pressure on and win this match!
