That makes luck too big a part and throws the strategic aspects right out of the window.

'Planet Cricket Casino League' will be more appropriate as the name. :rolleyes

A couple of wins in this and nobody can ever touch you again.
Way too fancy for my liking.

To put it into perspective,it may take you an entire season to earn 10 points unless you are incredibly consistent.

Hmm, yea. Maybe you should quit? Yea, you and The Alliance can leave the league. Make a big statement. Show us what's what.

There's more strategy in the Ten10 matches than you think. If you pick a high number as your bonus ball, you lower the total score, if 6 is your bonus ball, the opposition can't hit a six, if you have the last over as your powerplay, you might get them all out before then, if you use it too early, they might lose some early wickets, but stay in the whole way through. If you choose a low number as your ball, that means when batting you can turn the low runs into higher scores - or you can go for a middling number and balance it all out.

Likewise, if you lose, then you've dealt your team a harsh blow - the only reason the Doosras would have done it here was that they'd lost both matches and were running out of points, if the result went the other way they'd probably keep losing and miss out on having a powerful star player.

Even then, strategy still plays a part with point allocations. You could have 20 points and waste them on players that can't improve any more, or spread them too thin and have no power players.

There is risk and strategy deeply involved with this bye option, just because you don't see it doesn't mean you have to spend all of your time calling everything unfair.

Err,Matt,I appreciate all the strategy your sim involves but what I'm getting at is that this is completely overshadowing the very core foundation that being that this is a 'cricsim' league.

Zorax, you can take that up with my arse because he's the only one who gives a crap about what you say or do. :p

Anyway,let's move on.

It is simply a way to make things different, in PCPL you just paid more in the drafts to get better stat players, in PCCL the averages changed based on actual performances.

The previous ways of doing it needed no tactics at all - this way there is cricsim improved through using many forms of tactical elements, so there is real team management going on, not just the sheer randomness of traditional cricsim leagues.

You could have a dull series where there's nothing to do beyond post randomly cheering for a team you have no influence in - or you can do different things to complement the main game. That's what this is.

Now if you don't agree with it fine - you don't have to play, but it's getting seriously annoying having you respond in the way you do to all these threads.

I have no probs with this thing, rather I am a proponent because it actually adds more spice and strategic luck to the game (incredible amount of luck already involved since it's cricsim).

You guys are aware that this is in fact a fantasy league and therefore it isn't real life?
