Batting positions aren't fixed except Cook (1 or 2). Now, when you make your next nomination, you'll also have to consider your captain because at the moment, it's gonna be Cook and there are few players available who can make this XI with better captaincy records. And \when I say batsman or bowler, you can elect all-rounder as well. But make sure they fit in that role.

1. Opener 2
2. Fast bowler 2 (pacer/all-rounder, you can figure it out)
3. Spinner
4. Fourth bowler (pacer/spinner/all-rounder, trying to keep it flexible for everyone)
5. 3 Middle-order batters, preferably bat at positions 3,5,6 (can be all-rounders as well but make sure batting doesn't get too compromised).

This is separate from previous so voting for players like Jack Hobbs will start from 1. For position 5, the top-3 most nominated would be in.

My nominations:
1. Len Hutton (1)
2. Fred Trueman (1)
3. Derek Underwood (1)
4. Sydney Barnes (1)
5. Wally Hammond (1), Ken Barrington (1), Ian Botham (1) [if he gets picked, Ames at 6, Beefy at 7 makes sense]

@Kamboh @Supreme General @DuneTiger @Ed Smith @mohsin7827 @Viper. @Perfect Square @Pinch hitter @ddrap14 @Till Valhalla @Welwyn @malikali @Na Maloom Afraad @Aislabie @icyman @wasteyouryouth @Yash. @Neo 7 @BasketballHooper @CerealKiller @TSPrathik @Fenil etc.

Opener 2: Len Hutton
Fast Bowler 2: Fred Trueman (picked him before as well)
Spinner: Graeme Swann
Fourth Bowler (All-rounder): Ben Stokes
Middle-Order: Wally Hammond, Kevin Pietersen, Ken Barrington

Cook as Captain

1. Jack Hobbs

2. Fred Trueman

3. Jim Laker

4. Sydney Barnes

5. Wally Hammond
Ken Barrington
Ian Botham
Post automatically merged:

:eng: :bat: Jack Hobbs
(Cook making it ahead of either Hobbs, Hutton or Grace is an absolute travesty)

:eng: :bwl: Fred Trueman

:eng: :bwl: Hedley Verity

:eng: :bwl: S. F. Barnes

:eng: :bat: Wally Hammond
:eng: :bat: Denis Compton
:eng: :bat: Ted Dexter :c:
Honestly it would be too pre war biased without him, as we really can't compare the two eras so well. Cook can be there deservingly as a modern-day great. One of Hutton/Hobbs would have to make way.

1. Jack Hobbs

2. Fred Trueman

3. Jim Laker

4. Sydney Barnes

5. Wally Hammond
Kevin Pietersen
Ian Botham

I so wanted to include Swann but Barnes is too good to sit out otherwise I thought 2 pacers and 2 spinners with Beefy donning the third seamer's role would be a team for all conditions.

Opener 2: Jack Hobbs
Fast Bowler 2: Sydney Barnes
Spinner: Hedley Verity
Fourth Bowler : Ian Botham
Middle-Order: Wally Hammond, Kevin Pietersen, Ben Stokes

Opener 2: Jack Hobbs (C'mon he should be in XI)
Fast Bowler 2: Sydney Barnes
Spinner: Jim Laker
Fourth Bowler : Ian Botham
Middle-Order: Graham Thorpe

I would argue that perhaps AR should be its own slot.

Opener 2: Jack Hobbs
Fast Bowler 2: Fred Trueman
Spinner: Jim Laker
Fourth Bowler: Sydney Barnes (he goes here and not fast bowler because he's kinda both)
Batsmen: Wally Hammond, Ted Dexter, Ian Botham
