3rd Test: Australia v England at The WACA, Perth, 13-17 Dec

Fawad Ahmed is already 31, War..

Anyway regarding England,

Swann still has a number of years in him imo, so I reckon he's here to stay, especially considering England's second choice spinner is a distant distant second to Swann that it's scary.

Jimmy I guess probably has one more year in him but the pace bowling department has talent in abundance, so as much as it would be a loss when he finally calls it a day, it shouldn't overly affect England with the likes of Finn, Rankin there in the reserves.

Prior is sadly still England's best wicket keeping batsmen, so unless Buttler can lay down his marker in the FC Arena, Prior will probably be playing the summer tests against SL & IND.

No idea what they'll do with Carberry & Compton, but that opening slot really is becoming a bit of an issue. Is this Sam Robson guy any good? Never seen him play.

Finally, can see KP and Bell in the next Ashes series as well..

As Michael Vaughan said though, not naming Graham Onions in the touring party proved to be a massive stinker. Wonder if he's in the frame for the summer tests..

They fixed the opening position via the Root route, then decided to bring in an opener not stick with Bairstow or a six and now it's a bit of a mess.

I'd rather open with Root and bring in Robson than keep bringing in players 28+ to make debuts. England don't seem to have any detectable long term plan, bring in youngsters when you're winning and playing rubbish opposition so they have some experience for the times you need them
