A little Something
Write just while im eating dinner, revising and looking after my sister I have experimented with a another little thing. Just for the sake of it!
I am writing up everything I did for the last scorecard of the South Africans and will post that later as its more indepth and does not include any change of lineup!
This time I have done the same. Jo'Berg.. South Africa are the AI.
I was put into bat and simulated it got 198 = well done England
Now this time I have tinkered with the order and this is what I found:
Smith and Mackenzie opening: Batted normally and well. McKenzie ran himself out. Id normally save and reload but I wasn fussed as i was experimenting.
7-1
Amla at 3... Again batted normally defended and played a few shots for singles.
20-2 Bowled Amla with him playing a defensive shot!!.....v nice
Botha come in LOL! 20-3 caught top edge on the pull first pull.
In come Morne Morkel.
Im expecting the middle order mental madness.
However with Morkel, Smith almost seemed like he was not sure what to do. He played out maidens, he drove agressively to my sweeper and also defended regulary.
It was more agressive but NO WHERE NEAR the stuff we are used to.
Same applies for Morkel, looked to score runs but due to lack of ability nudged it, drove it, at times left and defended out maidens!
69-4 get him with a slower ball from Broad.
In comes Steyn still no Mentalness from Smith, sure he played his shots looks like he wanted to score but defended the good balls was pleasing.
Steyn defended and the got caught slips. 80-5
Kallis joins Smith and once again there is no middle order crazyness.... Smith still playing in a positive manner but not aerial shots.
107-6 Smith cuts to point. for 59 off 94 Balls.
AB. DeVilliers comes in and we are revert back to perfect test match batting as he and Kallis are not out.
Kallis 77 (133) DeVilliers 37 (109)
Just to confirm this is not what I did in the first match, just something i have tinkered with since.
The openers i left at the top. As they dont seem to be programmed to go as mental as the middle order. Smith stayed playing at a normal rate.
To put it into perspective the innings at no point got above a run rate of 3.7
:happy
My write up on the other innings will come!
