Bowling time and i was pretty much crapping myself, allowing myself to come in at the tenth over i found the newish ball quite good, i had nice grip both in my hand and off the pitch and i was spinning it in and out, to and away from Strauss and Cook.

The Great Invisible Act Gives In

Barrow today came out infront of the camaras for the first time in a year to claim, "I'm on the return," Barrow who looked to be one of the most promising youngsters on the county circuit has today spoken out about his disappointment with injuries, team mates and allround worries in the county game.

Last time barrow was seen bowling one of his left arm legspinners was when America were taking on the might of England in a unofficial tour, that "test" saw the American take a turn for the worse with only 3 runs and 145-0 with the bowling, it was said a day later that Barrow has been dealt the sorry blow of reality as his world crashed around him, only he could be found on the hallowed turf after 9PM still apperently shell shocked.

In an exclusive for Sky Sport, Barrow had this to say,

"Well, im in the process of snapping up a contract with a few teams, Somerset are looking favorite but i wouldnt rule out a few others also. People ask me what happened, and all i can say is the pressure made me ill, it got to me, i couldnt sleep thinking about my bowling mainly, i wasnt too fussed with the bat but England took me apart and it was as the papers put it, reality!"

"For the last year i've been in Brisbane training with the University over there, out of the sight of British media, and i must say ive tried my best to get back into the game, so much so i've decided to return to my better bowling style of Slow Left Arm bowling which proved me well as a child."

"Let me just say, i am still eligable to stick it in for England, and hopefully i shall be there some time in the future!"

Bold statement by Barrow when a year ago his heart lay with his home country of America! Simon Barrow is legally allowed to play for England, as he didnt play in an official ICC recorded match for America so cant be classed as an American player 100%, although there is rumours that he could be pursuaded by the massive increase in popularity, and with the American School of Cricketing Excellence coming to completion Barrow could see himself back in the red, blue and white colour of America, not England.

More Later!

PS. I will be contining on Icc06 Ashes Edition due to it being too much hard work on C07, ill keep the same way, ill have pictures etc. So just stick with me please!

how are you going to make your character on icc

England Swoop Without Thought

This mornings papers are all about Simon Barrow and his apperent call up to the England squad ahead of the 2009 Ashes series. One of the major talking points is where his loyalties lay, and Barrow, yet without a club after 2 years out of the game is coming in to replace Andrew Strauss in the England lineup.

Some newspapers welcome the news saying that Barrow will bring to the fold which others dont, a quick, aggressive start which will benifit from many runs before the big boys in the middle order take over.

Other papers quoted some ex-professionals, especially Marcus Trescothick who said Barrow wasnt an English player, he was a American in disguise. The same paper had its backpage with a picture of Barow celebrating a wicket for USA with the headline "Sim-ister,"

Barrows spokesmen gave a quick word or two ahead of the first test at the sacred home of cricket.

Simon is in upmost joy by the fact that England want him and he is ready to help dislodge the Aussie from there high pedistool. Simon said his batting was at 100% and his bowling isnt too shabby either.

Barrow will break a record for England if he plays the first test, by being the youngest opener for England, which for an American isnt to shabby!

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, its the big one, the big cheese, the big boss, whatever you want to call it, its England - Australia and its BIG!

Here at Lords is a testing ground for England, lacking the mentality to win at the "home of cricket," has cost them dear, but last time Australia played on this holy turf they went away over-confident and lost the remaining 4 after kicking England up the backside.

England in contrast to Australia look just as threatening as in 2005 and really look to be kicking on from a great couple of years after the World Cup, with wins verses West Indies, Pakistan and New Zealand as well as a few more.

Lets take a look at a few key players for each team;

Barrow will be looking to start well for his international team here, as he is so much under everyones spot like one mistake can be the end for him, he has to think big with the bat, and think spin with the ball, nothing more should matter for the next 5 days!

Claydon comes into this match as a debutant and has been in fierce form for his county team Durham. Labelled the "Fred Jnr." he has made bowling look simple hitting the high 80's almost ever ball, and batting, well with a high score of 143* against Andrew Flintoff's Lancashire who can complain?

On the back of an amazing 2008 season, Tudor was an almost certain call up to the start of the Ashes series, in his first stint of 10 games for England he saw his batting look aggressive, top scoring with an 99* and really looked good, but his bowling wasnt what it should have been but after 104 wickets in the County Championship and the 2 OD forms, aswell as a healthy 12 wickets in the Twenty20 he is back, and looking to attack from all ends!

Klinger is an expansive opener who has proformed well for the Under 19's and captained them to victory in Australia and in Asia, but since those days, he has been plucked to the post by the likes of Phil Jaques and the departed Hayden, but now Hayden has called it a day, its time to see how this right handed opener really fires.

Travis Birt is being called up to the Australian squad with one job, do what Andrew Symonds did, take a score from 350, to an almost impossible 450+ very quickly. Edgar as he is also known as has also had a decent Aussie season looking at quick runs, and staying out there to make big ones, he has a State top score of 223 and is debuting at Lords.

Mathew "min," Inness has pushed out the likely bowlers such as Tait and Johnson to come in and try to be the new guy who did what Glenn Mcgrath did, and it shows he's missed with Australia only just bowling out teams, and lacking in at least 20 wickets per international calander. Inness will be out there to try to get some out swing to the left hander, and inswing to the right hander, and just keep it simple, Australia really need him to fire!

Here are the squads!
