Story A Story of A Young Spinner (C2007)

Run, or not to Run!
That is the question!

Well, the day had come, my "debut," as it were had arrive and i was absolutly cacking myself over the prospect of one of those little things, i think there called Ducks!!

Well it was nice to get back into the dressing room in England, and to have a familiar guy like KP is top, but also to have Fred, who i knew throught ties up in Lancashire, and how could i forget the un-flappable Monty Panesar who i must say is too clever for me to comprehend as far as bowling goes.

Australia looked to be a bit on the weak side i must say, maybe i might jynx it, but with no Langer, Hayden, Warne, Mcgrath who were the massive parts of '05 when there i was just a screaming 15 year old spectator!

Its not 2009 and im a 19 year old screaming international player. Its time, i put on the wooley jumper (it was a tad cold) and grab the helmet which had my gloves in, and i was off, Chef (Ali Cook) going first to a roar from the crowd, i noticed one poster with "USA is nothing, England is everything." which im guessing is a refernce to me, but i cant think about that.

Anyways, first ball, nice outswinger, middled it, stopped in the covers, second ball a little less swing, i full bloodied it through the covers this time, and danced, first runs!

I'll not dwell on my innings as ill be honest, it was a good honest try, but nothing beyond good, spectacular is something im looking for but 24 (24) is a decent score in anyones eyes.

Ended up scoring 240 runs, which wasnt overly good on a pitch where 300 was possible, and more. Heres a look at the batting card, no one doing anything overly wonderful im afraid.

Very strong tail there ;) Simon Jones 114 (31) and M. Hoggard 89 (32) Wow :P

Nice to see you back...

You play for England now!? :p

I'm gonna pay more attention to this story :)

Oh, then still a strong tail :p Holding together for an extra 50+ runs.

Bat, Ball ..... BOOM!

Well i got back into the kit room after my little innings to be patted on the back by KP and told to get out back and get my head on the ball as he reckoned the pitch would spin nicely, so i did.

I got out and was summoned over to Virgil (Vaughan) and Fred at about 22ovs and given the ball with orders to do anything else but get injured! So i had free roam which was a bit of confidence as i felt they had the confidence in me. So i had a chat with Vaughan about who i wanted where and i was underway, Ponting was facing up.

1st Ball; Defending. Punter looks to be getting his eye into shape here.

2nd Ball; Comes down the track, missed and Prior wasnt quicke enough to whip the bails off!

3rd Ball; WICKET.... With Punter rattled, he had a massive swing a straight one and is beaten all ends up, Cook at gully runs forward to take a wonderful low down catch!

The feeling is priceless when you get argueably the best Aussie batsmen out since Bradman, so i told him "cya later," and he had an outburst which i cannot repeat, but lets just say if i followed his word i would be proforming some kind of act were i disappear.
