Run, or not to Run!
That is the question!
Well, the day had come, my "debut," as it were had arrive and i was absolutly cacking myself over the prospect of one of those little things, i think there called Ducks!!
Well it was nice to get back into the dressing room in England, and to have a familiar guy like KP is top, but also to have Fred, who i knew throught ties up in Lancashire, and how could i forget the un-flappable Monty Panesar who i must say is too clever for me to comprehend as far as bowling goes.
Australia looked to be a bit on the weak side i must say, maybe i might jynx it, but with no Langer, Hayden, Warne, Mcgrath who were the massive parts of '05 when there i was just a screaming 15 year old spectator!
Its not 2009 and im a 19 year old screaming international player. Its time, i put on the wooley jumper (it was a tad cold) and grab the helmet which had my gloves in, and i was off, Chef (Ali Cook) going first to a roar from the crowd, i noticed one poster with "USA is nothing, England is everything." which im guessing is a refernce to me, but i cant think about that.
Anyways, first ball, nice outswinger, middled it, stopped in the covers, second ball a little less swing, i full bloodied it through the covers this time, and danced, first runs!
I'll not dwell on my innings as ill be honest, it was a good honest try, but nothing beyond good, spectacular is something im looking for but 24 (24) is a decent score in anyones eyes.
Ended up scoring 240 runs, which wasnt overly good on a pitch where 300 was possible, and more. Heres a look at the batting card, no one doing anything overly wonderful im afraid.
