To start - for the record, I never said we would make the finals, I just said it was mathematically possible. God knows we weren't gonna make it.
Secondly, wow, Essendon supporters amaze me. 6-7 years of continued substandard performances and they're suddenly superstars on the way to great things. Sure you've got a few good youngsters, but it's like your first finals series since 2004, and you just scraped in. Good for you, toolbags. :sarcasm
As for West Coast, we came made the finals in 2002 (8th), 2003 (7th), 2004 (6th), 2005 (2nd + GF), 2006 (1st + Premiers) and 2007 (3rd).
2008 is the shittest year WCE have ever had, admittedly, but we didn't exactly stay down for long did we. We're already on the way up with some fantastic youth. We haven't been shot to pieces, Woosha has always been good in terms of playing youngsters, we won the '06 flag with a bunch of 22-26 year olds.
Essendon have not shown anything like that, they've been in steady decline since 2002, and have not even troubled the finalists each season.

An extremely moronic comment there, given everything I just said. Essendon have been pretty hopeless over the past few seasons.
As for Troy, that WCE not making the finals jibe was pretty misdirected haha, Covvy was having a go at ESSENDON, and I wasnt even here! We haven't said anything about St Kilda, I quite like them alot, despite their poor history in terms of premierships. Haha I'm just saying, Essendon fans are being the ██████s here, not us.
As for Hooper, Fremantle has some good talent, but you guys have got to be the worst nurturers of talent in the land. Sorry, but it's true. There's not much you can say to offend other clubs who have all got more to brag about than Fremantle. Well done on another 2nd last or whatever it was.

Essendon wont make it past Adelaide, no chance. Adelaide overpower the Bombers in every single way possible. I want the Saints to go past the prelim, just to go one step up from last year. Will be going to the Saints final this week, hope to get another punch-on with a Collingwood supporter like I did last year!

Mmm, Adelaide are pretty awesome atm. If Tippet doesn't get sucked away by GC they should win a flag within 5 years.

Can't wait for the few Essendon supporters to come and read this thread. The quality for this finals series is pretty good (excluding Essendon
). Geelong and St.Kilda are obviously the main teams but I believe any team in the top 7 can beat them. Some good matches are gonna occur during this finals series. Collingwood, Bulldogs and Adelaide all are in great touch, especially Adelaide and Carlton and Brisbane can win against good teams.

@Jesse- Yes, I did, me and a couple of mates got into a punch-on with 2 Collingwood suppporters. Got a bruised eye and my cheekbone killed. But we owned. Screw Collingwood supporters.

You Vics are so lucky to live in Melbourne, seriously. Not only is going to the footy alot reasonably cheap, you get to go pretty much every week (provided you live near the ground). In WA, as an Eagles supporter, you have to be a member of the club to get into games, and the waiting list to become one is extremely long. It's also about $30 more expensive to get into games.
We don't want to build that new stadium because it will mean you won't have to become a member to get into games, and thus membership will fall. This is actually one thing I'm disgusted with about WCE. Mind you, I'd prefer that to us folding if we starting getting into debt haha.
But even in Melbourne, it's hard to go to finals. You're pretty lucky to get a seat.
I was lucky enough to go the 2006 prelim final against Adelaide in Adelaide (I was there by cooincidence at the time) and saw us come back from the brink to clinch a thriller, and then went over to Melbourne a week later to see WCE win by a point. We booked the tickets in June, so we were damn lucky hahah.
I'm ranting now.
