I dont really know mate, you might want to advise me why it isnt if you have any clues.

Try this, change the cursorsize to say 0 in the l_hard.cfg in the directory you provided and see if you are able to see the cursor at all when bowling. It doesnt work for me this tweak which is how I decided it may not have been working.

There are no experts in this I assure you, its all guess work and a little bit of a knowledge of the values which is carried over from Cricket 2002.

Yes and no Rahul, presently am able to change the default field for CPU. What CPU right now does is based on number of shots played in one direction, it moves one extra fielder from the outfield to the position where runs are coming from. Unfortunately the developers also continued to plug runs behind keeper(byes) by employing a Long Wicket Keeper which is simply mindless. The reason I am bringing this up is because right now I am able to change the field to employ a slip and a short backward point in the first few overs for the edges when CPU bowls but at times the CPU is moving one from close in to outfield which is not too good. Still a bit of work needed on this one as the numbers denoting field has simply changed in Cricket 2004 as compared to Cricket 2002 as well.

In short the field settings are a possible change and wont be long before we guys unlock it.

hope u can find something coz when i play a test ...tendulkar on around 80 and now 3 fielders near square leg almost right next to each other!!

but this can be very good if u can figure out where the cpu places the fielder..if u can find it out and if many runs are scored on leg u cud move the square leg fielder to deep square leg...if it can be altered game could get quite interesting...hope u find something.....keep it up!!

editing config files is sorta a trial and error opperation

i know it was like that when i did a few for c2k2

Attached is the promised patch guys, I am not fully convinced this is complete but its not good to keep people waiting after having announced the patch over a day or two ago.

Thanks to one of our fellow forummer's feedback, the indication are its quite a good bowling patch and surely its not a bad batting patch I assure you.

A couple of things have been brought to my attention already like the sweep at times ends up in the Mid wicket region and the backfoot cover drive shot having good power. Any comments apart from this are welcome from you guys. Please ensure you drop a line or two about the patch whether good or bad here to make the patch work better.

The patch does not do the following :

1. Fix the run out issue.
2. No field changes are included in the patch.
3. CPU pacing files only works for 50 overs a side ODI and for any difficulty mode.
4. All other changes will only work in ODI hard mode.

You guys playing on easy/medium modes may want to try the hard mode using this one as the batting is made a bit easy.

The CPU pacing files for 20 overs and 10 overs will be done after some feedback on this patch.

The patch will need to be installed under data directory in Cricket 2004 folder or whatever folder you may have installed the game in. Also this patch will only update the AI patch if you have not tinkered with the original cricket_pc.gob file in the data directory. If any changes have been made to the original cricket_pc.gob file, the install will not work.

Also attached below is a install to undo the changes made by the AI install. Please use this only if you have installed the AI patch on the original game files.

Please be aware that this patch takes a while to install the patch, it has to scan through 800 Meg file.

Cheers.

Sorrydaijin, this only works for ODI at present. Anyway what changes would you like to see in Test cricket patch if you are wanting a patch?

fair enough... one day it is.

for some reason, I keep getting a crc error, so I am gong to try and reinstall after a defrag before applying the patch again....

god I hate defrags . They were nice and quick back the days when the largest harddisk I had was 2GB.

good work...can u fix 1 thing in the game....the bounce isnt high enough....

secondly i played a test match on a nomal pitch and even when tendulkars confidence meter was full i could never play the hook shot...any1 else having this prob...the ball always hits me or misses the bat....if no 1 else has this prob then i guess its off to the practice nets!!

btw ravi u updated the .gob file right?? how did u manage to put this file into the .gob?? if it is possible will it be possible for me to put some faces in the game which replace the 1s currently in it?? i've made some and want to try them ingame!! so plzzz let me know..thanx!!

Hi Ravi,
I tested you now patch and here is my review!

I played a 50 overs ODI in hard mode between India A & paskistan A (I was India A) at kolkata. I selected Kolkata as venue and normal pitch to test the patch. I started off well but one thing annoyed me was that there were so many leg byes when cpu bowled that it is really painful & also cpu bowled many yorker lenght deliveries which is also unreal , so far so good batting is a bit easier in this patch. Now I would recommend you to fix the leg bye issues and also correct the ball length bowled by CPU so that they donot bowl yorkers over after over, infact if you can fix this two thing and also make the batting a bit easier in hard mode then we could end with best patch so far. I will paly more and let you know.

Is the gameplay too bad that we require the patch for it.I heard that the gameplay is perfect

hi there...just tested the patch.

i was playing a pura cup match between N.S.W and Tasmania. i was in the middle of my last inning when i applied the patch and continued with the game......wow...it sure made batting easy. good work on the strokes i must say. we need more time to play and test the patch. we'll keep sending our reviews.

**one thing i noticed.....the fields keep diving all around even though the ball is miles away from them. and also when the ball is suire to reach the boundary the chasing fielder seems to run somewhere else in some other direction.

well if this could be fixed.....i'll surely make the game perfect.

It may be possible to put new graphics files as far as we can import the graphics changes into the GOB file. Then we can release a patch with the updated faces but I do not know what program you used to extract the graphics files and using the same is it possible to import the changes into the GOB file? Let me know.
