@Na Maloom Afraad reveal your secret
So… the 'formula' is actually very simple.
That means your 5 bowlers perfomed well, or they were trashed
But first, I should clarify that from my experience, it really doesn't matter if one or two bowlers got smashed in the match for them to not be given overs and have an arbitrary pick come onto bowl one or two overs at the end. From what I've experienced, it really just depends on what the bowlers' ratings are before the game but surprisingly the 'form' of that bowler plays a big role because not too long ago, Aislabie pointed out there does seem to be some kinda of algorithm that's used by the simulator to determine a player's performance which directly ties in with how they did in the previous games (which can be completely put aside by just resetting the statistics in the simulator btw).

What I do to get only 5 bowlers to bowl in a game is rate all 5 of them almost exactly the same. The maximum points that differ from the best bowler in the lineup to the worst bowler in the lineup is literally just 2 points. So the best one can be rated 27 and the worst can be rated 29, and you'd get the desired affect of having one bowler perform better than the other and still have only 5 bowling options be used.

However that is kinda impossible to do so in a league of this kind where there's a star-rating system in place, with drastic differences in ratings. So you can't expect a 1-star bowler to be even near a 5-star bowler in terms of their rating.

Although, I should point out that it doesn't work all the time. For example, in IODC, Hyderabad constantly went with 5 bowlers. Despite not having a significant difference in the ratings, there were two very obvious instances where the sim picked a 6th bowler rated exactly how all non-bowling options are (99).

Here's KL Rahul conceding 14 runs in 5 deliveries - https://www.planetcricket.org/forums/threads/indian-one-day-championship.113591/post-3371473

And here's Rassie van der Dussen bowling an over despite not being marked - https://www.planetcricket.org/forums/threads/indian-one-day-championship.113591/post-3376081
GOOODDDD I wish it was that easy. But I can't really do that since I won't be able to post screenshots of the statistics for every team in leagues where I can't be bothered to do them manually, like ya know, IODC, CLX8 and HCP VI (up until the last round). (:

Ibrahim Zadran's test average is better than Rahmat Shah. Why he is not in this Afghan test team? @Na Maloom Afraad
From what I've gathered, Rahmat Shah is an excellent player irl in terms of technique and all that pazas. I honestly have no idea of how Ibrahim Zadran is as a player irl. Zadran's definitely got a better average than Shah, but he's played like, 4 innings less or something? Shah also has a Test hundred which Zadran doesn't have.

I'm really just banking on CK knowing how good Shah is technically, irl. :p

Pitch and Conditions Report

The pitch seems a flat one, as expected, so the batsmen should not face too many difficulties. However, the soil does not seem very hard, so it may susceptible to some exploitation by spinners and pacers who bowl cutters and slower balls. There may be some dew in the evening, but as we are on the southern coast of Pakistan, the ocean breeze will likely mitigate the dew factor.

Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bowl first

Interesting decision by Asghar Afghan to bowl first. Perhaps he is banking on the dew factor to put the Pakistani bowlers in a difficult situation in the second innings. However, the pitch may slow down a little too. Seems like a gamble. Raza says that he would've batted first in any case.

Pakistan's openers laid a solid foundation for a big score, with Umair Nazim's aggression complemented by Jack Ryder's caution. Captain Asad Raza took advantage by scoring a brilliant hundred. However, Ryder and Nav Richardman would be disappointed with their inability to accelerate.
Surprisingly, Afghanistan's biggest weapon Rashid Khan conceded nearly 7 an over, despite picking up 2 big wickets. Mujeeb ur Rehman, Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib (who perhaps benefitted from a slowish pitch) contained Pakistan to a chaseable total.

Afghanistan's chase was seriously hampered by the sluggish batting performace produced by their top order. However, credit must be given to the Pakistani bowlers, who exploited the slightly slowing surface to perfection. Nonetheless, the type of innings played by Gurbaz and Shahidi would break the back of any chase, and that would've been the case, hadn't it been for Rahmat Shah's wonderful and composed century, and Mohammad Nabi's belligerent innings. However, the burden on their shoulders proved too heavy in the end.

Pretty bummed to be on the losing side. :/

Hashmatullah Shahidi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz's strike rates destroyed us. Still pretty pleased about the fact that we gave Pakistan a good run for their money, especially considering the fact that traditionally it's their bowling while defending that's their strongest suit.

Pretty pleased to be on the winning side. (:

As a player, not being in the playing xi isn't all that important if our team continues to perform they have. It is a little disappointing on a personal level, but we got a big win under our belt early on, and that's all that matters for our team and our nation.

Great innings from the vice-captain @Umair7! I had to take the responsibility and I am happy it turned out good. Good cameo from @CerealKiller at the end. @Salman. and @Till Valhalla were solid too.

Bowlers were brilliant at the start containing runs. However, I wasn't too impressed with them in the later stages.

Great game overall! Good job boys. Today's party is on me @Umair7
