What a game i won by one wicket.
in the first innings a great 100 run partnership helped india to 415 with 2 great tons. In reply i really struggled thanx to a quality spell on bowling by harbhajan. only 2 of my players got past 30 one of them being m clearly my bowler, the other hayden who played beutifully for 142. but when he was dismissed the innings was pretty much over. i was behind by over 100 runs i knew it would be near impossible to win from here with indias strong batting line up. They started well with a partnership of 83 but late in the innings gillespie tore through them getting 7 wickets.
i needed to get 395 on a wicket that was near impossible to bat on. After a solid oppening stand of 100 i lost my way and found myself 250 for 6. needing 150 bret lee and ponting put on 60 and ponting scored an incredible hundred. i need 100 with 3 wickets left. bret lee and m clearly put on 83. lee got 54 off 60 and clearly 33 off 52. but 8 runs before the end i lost both of them and it was down to gillespie and hauritz to win it for us. in the end hauritz hit the winning runs and we won by 1 wicket
this is only the first game of the series there could be allot more to come
