ICC Chairman
Just finished my second season as Surrey on ICC06. Took so bloody long because I tracked the stats of all my players for every form in an Excel spreadsheet. If only ICC06 had better stat tracking I wouldn't have to do it myself, but it was the easiest way to help me see who should play in what.
As for the season, it was a slightly better one than our first. Still stuck in Div 2 for both comps, I managed to win 7 of 8 Pro40 games and top the table, 4 points ahead of Middlesex and with a whopping +13.7 NRR, the highest by far throughout the two divisions.
In the County Championship we were indifferent and despite a big win in the final match of the season, a win for Northants and a draw for Kent was enough to see us stay 4th.
We fared slightly worse in the Challenge Trophy, winning 5 of 9 games and ending up in 4th. Had we won an extra game we would however made it through to the final as we finished just 2 points behind the top 3 and our aggressive mentality saw us have the highest NRR.
This aggressive mentality saw us as one of the favourites for the Twenty20 Cup. We amassed 11 points in the group stage to top the group but then slipped up against Leicestershire in the Quarter Final, ending a promising run that could have seen us win Finals day.
Now I would like your input in voting for my players of the season. There are 4 categories: Player of the season, Batsman of the season, Bowler of the season and Young player of the season.
