Android Phones

Evo 4G when it comes. Stay away from Xperia untill Froyo comes on it (which is never :p)

Exclusivity is for US market only I think.

Well then I will say go back to Nokia in N900. :yes

Well I've told you I want only Android. :p I might be prepared to ditch the Android 3.0 support in favor of the Milestone, but even that's incredibly overpriced here. 27k when in the US its $450!

Do you have similar deals where the phones price falls drastically if you sign contracts? Ive never paid full price for a phone, usually get it for almost 50% off with a 2 yr contract.

Because US uses CDMA. We have both services here (GSM and CDMA) and some crappy low budget phones come bundled as CDMA plans. Pay nominal fees every month for the phone.

As far as I know Verizon is the only CDMA there... it doesn't matter though, GSM or CDMA. Its just that Contract system has never been introduced in India, at least for the high end smartphones.

Because its India. People will be off contract in minutes after purchasing the phone. :p

There's no flash in the Galaxy S! :doh Such idiots, those samsung engineers...

I'm now waiting for the HTC Desire to launch in India, but boy I'll miss the SUPER AMOLED display from the Galaxy S. :(

Very strongly considering going to an Android phone - I have two choices on the $29 plans (which is all I want to spend a month) - a Motorola Dext or a LG GW630.

Playing with them I prefer the LG, it has a much better spaced keyboard, typing on the Dext felt cramped. Also in the LG's favour is being on my current carrier - who are good value.

In the Dext's favour, not all that much, it takes the edge on some features and feels a bit nicer (I like the back).

I'm sold on the idea of an Android now, I've been cautious over touch screens, but my desire for a shiner and newer phone and the customisability of Android compared to my clunky old E63 and the fact they have keyboards have sold me.

I had been hanging out for one of the Windows Phone 7 devices or a Palm Pre, but neither seem headed here any time soon.
