Another (Probably) Stupid Question

OK, I've recently been playing Cricket 2002 as a 2-player game against my brother as opposed to against the computer, and my question is this..... does the difficulty setting play any part at all (apart from the speed of the bowling cursor) when playing against a human opponent? We have it set to auto-fielding, and it seems to me that some of the fielders maybe get their feet into position quicker and drop fewer catches when the setting is on "Normal" or "Difficult". My brother reckons that's my imagination....

of course the fielding will be better on hard...and the ball si faster...and it might have some effect on the pitch...u know the green pitch may be more sloggish

So presumably if we removed the Auto Fielding option there would be very little difference in gameplay regardless of difficulty setting?
